We cannot drill our way out of this oil crisis. Since 2000, oil companies working in the U.S. have doubled the number of wells drilled per year.

Although increased drilling has added new oil to the nation's supply, it has not done so fast enough to offset the terminal decline of existing fields.

We are going to have to import more of our oil. Period.

Sanity is not a black-and-white issue. There are degrees of sanity-insanity. It is also possible to be sane in one or more areas while being insane in others. Many people have high levels of "socialization sanity" but are stark raving mad when it comes to technology.

Most things are a continuum. Nature is analog not digital.

A common feature of very bright people is having poor people skills and little common sense.

It helps to be a little mad, it gives life that extra bit of edge.

Reminds me of the theory of specific intelligences. That is, that a person can be highly intelligent in some ways and brain-dead in others.

"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers.
The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently.
They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them.
But the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They push the human race forward.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do."
