Some said that Cochet could be the official Green candidate for the next presidential election in France (2007).

With this book, he is trying to be considered as an opinion leader regarding PO in France. Unfortunately, his book remains too 'greenish' : if the first part is a good description of the Oil World, from the geopolitical to the industrial point of view, the second one looks like a caricatural Green manifesto (full sobriety, rural communities living in small villages, etc), and is introduced by a low-quality disaster story (collapse of major French companies, such as Peugeot-Citroen, in a few months after the PO).

For those who look for a objective analysis of the PO and its major impacts, Wingert's book has to be preferred to this reactionary utopia.
