This is great news. Now we're getting somewhere.
I wonder, would it be possible to get a breakdown of members by country of residence? I'm quite curious to what extent the concept of peak oil is actually spreading around the globe.

Don't fool yourselves. Many register and then never return or never participate. Others, like me, try to get involved but become disenchanted with how this site is run by fleets of gauleiters. At any given time, only a few dozen members are logged on.

A more interesting statistic would be how many active members? With active member described as someone who has posted within the last 30 days or something. A broader classification would be members who have logged in within the last 30 days.
Is the data available to work that out?

Thanks there guy... appreciate your sense of righteous outrage & candor...
And there are a range of members who log in that's reflected by the stats you guys see on the forums. It's not real accurate, but it's close.
10/20 times that number in lurkers...
And no shortage of detractors... 
It's a healthy forum, doing it's job I think.
Always fails to disappoint.
(I'd write more, but my Chinese handlers require my attention just now to silence our members ideas & to finger potential subversives in the coming economic invasion.)

Amazing... and congratulations to all.
I was approximately member number 1,000 or thereabouts not all that long ago. The peak oil message is certainly getting out more and more And a few of the lurkers are haunting this site at my recommendation ... lol.

I was a lurker for about a year, albiet a very avid one. My friend who is a member started sending me links and that led to me reading articles then reading posts and finally feeling like I could contribute something.

Gee, 5000 here registered, maybe 50,000 occasional visitors, and a world population of 6.5 billion.
Do calculators even have that many decimal places (5000/ 6,500,000,000)? |

Sadly...I doubt that they do. That is part of the problem to be honest.
I am curious....how many unique viewer this site has ever gotten...
