How then, do we move backwards? How does a society, with most of the people having no clue of future events, move from being dependent on a vast and intertwined network of goods and services produced by the indigenous people of whereever, to a local resource and renewable energy based society, and do so in the timeframe available (20-30 years using the most liberal extimates, 10-20 with resonable estimates, 5-10 with worst case scenarios), all the while prices on everything increasing, world politics getting more militaristic, governments continuously reducing civil liberties, shortages of goods on the market and weather patterns resembling bad Hollywood movies?

Lately I have been unable to read the last few pages of the Bird Flu thread. I can access the first page of the thread fine and all other threads on the board, but I am thinking maybe this thread has become too lengthy (100 + pages now) and that is the problem. When I click on one of the most recent pages of the thread there is a pause while the system seems to be trying to load the page, but the delay is unending..

I tried navigating to the last few pages from the pagelist at the top of page one of the BF thread with the same result.

Are any of you having the same problem?

P.S. I am using IE, but the problem happens with Mozilla Firefox also.

I tested it just now and managed to log in after about 2 min. of wait.
And I use broadband by the way.

It appear that a lot of bullshit was placed there and an emerging intelligent internet refuses access to it.

The whole forum has been extremely slow. Probably a bandwidth problem.

I have broadband also. And the other threads load relatively quickly for me without any problem.

How'bout just retire the original forum and start a new one?

In fact, as a general rule, retire forums that go over 10 pages and start them off from scratch at zero.
