Meanwhile, keep watching for shortage reports, because we should start seeing some sneak in this week, if our doom-o-meter is calibrated correctly.

I went panning for gold this weekend and all I got was wet! Laughing Too bad, look at that chart, reminds me of the roller coaster special I watched this weekend. Laughing

Interesting to note that copper and silver headed in sharply opposite directions for the first few hours or so. Late last week, both gold and the USD were headed higher. I had a hunch I should have taken profits when SI-N06 was at the 13180 range. SI & GC have a habit of reversing direction an hour to an hour and a half or so into the NY session. I should have taken a look at copper and gotten the heck outta there. Now I'll have to wait six whole hours before silver is back up to 13300 range Laughing

I'm also hearing stories that silver inventories are down and gold deliveries for both investment AND jewelery are down. I don't know If i trust that news or not.

Commodities getting hammered again. Silver was under 12, gold almost hit 620, back up at $630. Copper -5%, nickle -10% etc etc. Oil is the only strong commodity right now.

This is good, actually. I bought my first silver bullion (1Kg) last week and will buy one every month until I have perhaps 10Kg. I hope the prices stay down long enough. After I reach 10 kg, I will reduce the pace and wait to see what happens. Perhaps, in the event of an economic meltdown, these bullions will buy me a house. Smile

Anyway, silver is still cheap, by all that I've read, and those .999 coins really look nice! Very Happy

Converting your cash into bullion makes saving fun! I only wish I wasn't in debt when silver and gold was much cheaper. Alternatively, I wish I knew how much the two'd go up, when I was in debt. Wink

I'm expecting a run to 650+ early next week, (I'm still in and up on my longs with sloping stop losses.) followed by another significant correction, possibly to the 590s. After that, I don't know if the big shorts are going to be able to keep the game up much longer. Don't despair if it goes below 600. Fundamentals are fundamentals.

I continue to think the price of gold recently has a lot to do with the Iranian situation. Back when things were looking ugly at the UN Security Council, gold shoots up to $717 per ounce. Then, negotiations with the EU begin, drops way down. Now, Iran suggesting won't consider latest carrot/stick idea, bc won't suspend enrichment, goes up $10. I don't think this is just coincidence. The price has been as crazy as the negotiations.

The lease rates sure plummeted today. I guess no one wants to lease the stuff and short it? I have to agree with the Cougar; will likely see what it does tonight in Asia and London and keep chasing it's rear end with stops- same with silver.

the Fed sort of announced they'd be raising interest rates. the dollar is up vs almost all other currencies and gold is dropping quickly. $626.50 currently. how low will she go? my holdings are soley for the purpose of safe-haven savings. i'm thinking when it hits $600 i get on the phone and buy up some more bulliion...

I'm back at cash after making my money this month. I wouldn't be a buyer before middle of next week unless we see another 5% down first.
I may play the short going into this weekend. I hesitated last time around and left alot of someone else's money on the table as a result.
I'm still calling 590 or lower by next week.

Hmmm, oil dropping while gold rallies. figures right?, just goes to show no one can predict this market at all.

Rally?

Intraday maybe, but we're still well below Monday.

If I'm wrong I'll cry over gains lost, not capital lost.
