Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

I saw this on another unrelated website. I have heard of the neocons but dont know much about them.
The "neocons" is a term normally (but very vaguely and inaccurately) applied to the members of the PNAC. Many of them are also members of think tanks such as the American Enterprise Institute and investment firms such as The Carlyle Group.
The neocons main proponents are Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz and Richard Perl, formally chairman of the Defense Policy Review Board. Perl resigned from the Board after revelations that his business, Trireme Partners (set up to specialize in homeland security after sep 11), had been dealing with people such as Adnan Kashoggi.
Abrum Shulsky, Douglas Feith - Under Secretary of Defense for Policy - and Wolfowitz set up the Office Of Special Plans specifically to bypass the vetting and filtering process, traditionally used to ensure policy makers receive only usefull, reliable intelligence data. The OSP worked very closely with the INC where it appears they relied heavily on the highly questionable information given by Ahmed Challabi.
It was the OSP that pressured the Administration into using information such as the aluminum tubes and the yellowcake from Niger in their efforts to justify the proposed war in Iraq. Both of these claims are now known to be totally false. Needless to say, Powell will be striking Perl and Wolfowitz off his christmas card list.
The New York Times reported that Rumsfeld had ordered the OSP to “to search for information on Iraq’s hostile intentions or links to terrorists” that might have been overlooked by the CIA. This data mining activity (once known as political propaganda) speaks volumes about how the neocons were able to build a case for war. Consequently, many CIA analysts have been critical of how they were exploited by the OSP - Ray McGovern has been particularly critical and is occasionally interviewed on BBC.
Shulsky and Wolfowitz were both students of a Chicago professor of political philosophy called Leo Strauss, whose followers are known as Straussian's. Others include William Kristol, Gary Schmitt and Stephen Cambone (who featured prominantly in the Sep 11 hearings). Strauss believed, amongst other things, that "the elite should use deception, religious fervor and perpetual war to control the ignorant masses". Gary Schmitt (executive director of PNAC), in a recent interview, admitted that Strauss "alerts one to the possibility that political life may be closely linked to deception". One of Strauss's favorite sayings was "The person who whispers in the ear of the king is more important than the king".
The neocons are a powerful force behind the Bush administration and have been waiting in the wings for a long time. The first Bush administration (and the Clinton Administration) refused to be guided by Perl - aka the prince of darkness - and Wolfowitz, who was then referred to as a lunatic.
The electoral debacle in 2000 forced Bush to look further right in order to garner support. We are now seeing the results.

Interesting information, don't know much about if he was their professor,
but I will agree with one statement - the current president obviously allows the neocons to whisper in his ear - not only does he allow them to whisper, they completely wag him.
Its obvious, whether it was just timing or dumb luck for this group of freaks - they found a President (they picked him because 1. he was in their circle, 2. knew he was a moron and that he wanted to desperately prove himself to his daddy and friends, and 3. knew, they could absolutely control him), that is completely pliable - he is like puddy and they Know it!!
I would have to say, the President has allowed himself to be used because of his own inferiority and lack of being in touch with himself and what is truly right vs. wrong.
have a look at the link on a thread called "The Power of Nightmares" for further details.
This is a BBC series utterly refuting the war on terror as a political construct. Your post looks as if it may well be a summary of a part of the series.
My book, Madmen at the Helm is about these neocons and the ruling elite behind them that have dominated American foreign policy for over 80 years. It took only eight neo-cons to take over the whole US government under Bush: Dick Cheney, Vice President, Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense, John R. Bolton, Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, Richard Perle, Chairman of the Defense Policy Board, Douglas J. Feith, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Paul Wolfowitz, Deputy Secretary of Defense, Scooter Libby, Chief of Staff to the Vice President, and Stephen Hadley, Deputy National Security Adviser.
Strauss' quote, that "the elite should use deception, religious fervor and perpetual war to control the ignorant masses" is classic collectivist teachings. In the late nineteenth century, with the industrial revolution sweeping Europe and America, some of the more erudite of those from the wealthy, intellectual classes of England dreamed of a world far different from the one they lived in; a world organized in such a way that wars would be impossible and every aspect of human life would be arranged by educated men for the benefit of all. From the very beginning, they discussed how to alter life in the United States, how to change the attitudes of Americans to give up their cherished principles and concepts of government and be more receptive to what we will call the collectivist model of society.
After many months of deliberation, they came to the conclusion that, out all of the options available for altering the attitudes of people in the United States, there was only one that was really dependable. That option was war. In times of war, they reasoned, only then would people be willing to give up things they cherish in return for the desperate need and desire for security against a deadly enemy. And so the decision was made that it must do whatever it can to manipulate the United States into war.
My book documents each and every effort since the turn of century to do just that . A PDF file of my book is available. Send me a PM with an e-mail if you would like a free copy.
