I'm preparing a PO awareness "pitch" for a local "friends & neighbors" group and can't find a particular graph. I've searched and can't find what I think I saw here somewhere. It was a basic graphical representation of oil production vs. demand on a yearly basis. Can anyone help?

Roscoe Bartlett via PO.net
Roscoe Bartlett's presentation to congress has bountiful graphs. The one on Page 7 shows what you want to show, I think. |

| Thanks, that's the format I had in mind. I had seen one somewhere with the axes labelled which I thought was more meaningful but this one will work. |

You could always use mine! It shows discovery, production and demand in a single 3D representation. I think showing discovery along with the other two really drives home the fact that it is not realistic to think we are going to find large amounts of additional conventional reserves.
Larger Version Here
The historical discovery data is from Exxon Mobil and the production and demand history are from BP's Statistical Review (2005). The Exxon data is 2002, so I used pup55's running discovery total to fill in the gap (thx pup!). The projections for discovery and production were done by me using the Hubbert linearization technique and the demand projection is based on the EIA's estimate of 1.9% growth out to 2025. _________________ Geko45 - Producer of Doomer Porn |
