I wonder what effect this would have on the elderly this winter. Every winter I hear of some of these poor souls freezing to death because they could not afford to pay the gas bill. Is this underhanded culling because no one seems to do anything about it?

They do not even have the option to throw a few sticks on a fire because every house or flat since the 60s does not contain a fireplace or chimney.

I had an idea of having unwanted newspapers squashed into fire pellets to be burned in a stove for the elderly but because of the smoke and the usual fire risk assesments made it an impossibility.

Perhaps I would be more willing to have my gas bill raised so as to support cheaper gas for the elderly but I reckon we are all going to be in the same freezing boat before long.

This is N-Power's most recent rise. This is actually starting to worry me!
