For a minute there I thought I had to get off my couch, when all the while the fact is we don't have to do anything much but keep things afloat for just a few decades more! In fact, we'd best shut up about PO, because if our offspring finds out we knew about it all along, they'll turn and wring our necks come 2036!

How is this the case mortified? All the reports in the weeks following the crash were that you could find nothing larger than a necktie. DO you mean small body parts, such a bone fragments and the like?
Small teeth and bone fragments.
Here, a link containing photos of the crash site:

And your controlled demolition theory? I'd love to know how explosives teams managed to sneak in, not to mention plant, all the explosives required to drop two buildings of that size.
Well there is of course the unprecendented planned power outage in the top half of the south tower the previous weekend, along with reports of engineers in and out of the building the previous week. But even if that's all innocuous, strictly speaking they didn't need to be snuck in. The buildings could have been wired after construction before they ever opened, also for innocuous reasons. (Perhaps a controlled demolition is better than an uncontrolled demolition in certain circumstances, like when a jet airliner strikes the building.)

You appeared to be asking for a plausible scenario, not proof. No, I don't have any proof they were rigged from inception. The difference here is that you are starting with the premise that it seems impossible that the higher ups would or could make this happen, and therefore the collapses must be explainable with physics. I am starting with the premise that the collapses are not explainable with physics and therefore it must be the case that somehow, some way, the buildings became rigged. I don't need to have proof of how this happened to satisfy my own mind. It would be nice to know for sure though. I think the most likely scenarios are: rigged innocuosly from inception and rigged nefariously in the weeks/months before, especially given the reports from workers at the towers I had mentioned.

Hello All,
Well with the election just two weeks away it is time for us all to look into our crystal balls, or in my case an old light bulb, and give your predictions.
I am going to say the house ends up:
225 Dems
209 Repubs
1 Independent
In the Senate I am going out on a limb here but what the hell:
50 Dems
50 Repubs
So the Repubs keep the Senate with the Dick being the tie breaking vote.
But the Dems actually win a working majority in the house. Can anyone say Lame Duck President.
Then we can all sit around waiting on ‘08 for the next guy to take over. Unfortunately, it looks like fine young American men and women will have to continue to die in Iraq for the foreseeable future.

At least 220 Democrats in the House, a working majority.
The Democrats need to pick up 6 seats to have a majority.
These are my picks for a switch to Blue for 2006.
1. Missouri, the Democrat will win by a narrow margin. This election will be very close.
2. Rhode Island, Chafee is toast, the Democrats will pick this one up easily. After all, Rhose Island is one of the most democratic states in the Union.
3. Pennsylvania, Santorum is done. Case closed, Democrats will scoop this one up easily.
4. Ohio, (see Pennsylvania)
5. Montana, the influx of Californians into the state combined with an unpopular Senator Burns will put a Democrat in office by a small margin.
6...This is the key one. If the Democrats can hang on to New Jersey, then maybe the Dems have a chance to get #51, Tennesse.
The real key races are Tennesse and Missouri. If the Democrats pick up both of those, they will win the Senate.
But the odds of that happening are maybe 25%.
Regardless, we will have gridlock. Which could be a good thing... _________________ "www.peakoil.com is the Myspace of the Apocalypse."

Like I said in some other thread a week or two ago, I think the Dems peaked too early and blew it big time. I think the Reps will squeek out a hold in the house, maybe by a single seat, and they will also keep the senate with 53 seats plus Liberman flip flopping to them on many issues they hold near and dear. _________________ Oxygen: - An intensely habit-forming accumulative toxic substance. DIEBOLD - republicans hold both the house and the senate _________________ It is easier to enslave a people that wish to remain free then it is to free a people who wish to remain enslaved.

Talk about choosing between Scylla and Charybdus! Both are PO clueless, the dems will grant amnesty to 12 million illegals, the Repubs will suckle the teet of the oil industry right off the cliff. Horror horror everywhere! _________________ One of these now am I too, a fugitive from the gods and a wanderer, at the mercy of raging Strife.

I can imagine a scenario whereby BushCo. lets the Democrats win in November and then pulls the trigger on the economy.
The Repug's then blame the collapse of the US economy on the Dems. _________________ Gravity is not a force, it is a boundary layer.

I must agree with everyone that were pretty much damned either way. But at least it will be a change of pace taking pock shots at Democratic idiots along with the Republican idiots.
My only hope is that in ‘08 both sides nominate such extremists, Clinton and Gengrich(sp) come to mind, that a moderate third party will have an opportunity. The polls say voters are even more dissatisfied with the Republocrats than in 1992 when 20% of the vote went to Ross Perot. Unfortunetly, I don’t really see anyone out there who could get the job done.
Also, don’t you think the Diebold thing can only work in extremely close elections. Say, for example, that the PA Senate race is won by the Repub even though he was 10 points down in the polls on the day of the election. I think that would make many more folk sit up and take notice. _________________ I'd rather get my brains blown out in the wild than wait in terror at the slaughterhouse.

I want the Democrats to win subpoena power . When the truths behind 9/11, the war on Iraq, and the war on terror (and the constitution) are exposed THEN we can make some progress as a country.

The Dems are not going to investigate any of that. They don't want to be seen as being on a partisan witch hunt in order to not turn off independent voters. _________________ One of these now am I too, a fugitive from the gods and a wanderer, at the mercy of raging Strife.

Who cares? Good cop vs. Bad cop. The dems may use a little KY before raping you with their night stick, but it's not like it ultimately matters. _________________ "I was born in a deep forest
