Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

It is all about perspective...i.e. the Muslims now call the Americans arriving in Iraq 'Jews'.
It is a 'mindset'...being a Jew is a 'belief'...you are NOT the chosen race. Get it?
This is the belief that you have well expressed here at PO, that you and your big f**king dysfunctinal brain are somehow superior.
And that my friend is why the jewish peoples, NOT the jewish 'race' have made few friends throughout HIStory...big brains, small hearts.
That is true....we have made few friends throughout history.....but we have made it through. And we were without a country for 2 thousand years. Perhaps it was our being hated so much that allowed us to survive as a distinct group. Perhaps we should even thank you for hating us. There are 2 sides to every coin. Is he a terrorist or a freedom fighter.....well, it depends who you ask. A thieving parasitic jew.....or an industrious businessman, a violent criminal or a victim of society...... I do believe there are certain universal truths, but morality is not one of those. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hz-bTNxpApU

I guarantee you I know more about history than you could shake a stick at. I have travelled the world....my ideas might be a bit off center, but they are certainly original ones. Stalin killed millions, he led the country from one brutal purge to the next....all the while preventing moral decay, and the weakening of society. When he was done, the Soviet Union was a country strong enough to survive for the next 40 years. Stalin was the energy that the Soviet Union needed. His policies, while causing the starvation of millions, led to the rapid industrialization that directly defeated Nazi Germany. Only a dictator like Stalin could lead us from our current path toward one that doesn't end in total collapse. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hz-bTNxpApU

Stalin could have easily been defeated if Hitler had enlisted the Eastern Europeans as allies. They would have flocked to the German banner if Hitler hadn't been an imbecil.

Well that is where this whole mess got started back at the fact that by Carter merely questioning the party line put out by AIPAC he gets raked across the coals.
EJ
I think Carter does call on the Palestinians to use non-violent protest. I doubt it is in them, the Palestinians right now are given over to way too much violence.
I agree much more with the Ultra Orthodox anti- Zionist who believe that modern Israel is committing a sin. They believe that it is the Messiah that is supposed to lead the Jews back to Israel.
Modern Israel is kind of schizophrenic, on the one hand they are secular then on the other thy chose the land because of religious reasons. Very screw ball logic. They should have taken over New Jersey they would have been better off.
EJ I am right there with you brother in that same place. I think the suffering to come will serve a clear purpose(I hope). When all this stuff comes crashing down it will be much easier to see who is peaceful and who has love and those that do not.

So you're a "the ends justify the means" type of chap?
Ironic since minorities like yours are traditionally one of the first groups to be victimised.
By us I presume you mean the US? I suggest getting rid of the albatross round their neck called mindless support and aid to Israel would help. _________________ "Complex problems have simple, easy to understand, wrong answers." - Henry Louis Mencken

You claim to be Jewish, yet you're an admirer of one of history's major persecutors of Jews.

(to the Oscar Meyer song)
My president has a first name, it's j-i-m-m-y
My president has a second name, it's c-a-r-t-e-r,
I love to hate him every day,
And if you ask me why I'll say,
'Cause Jimmy Carter has a way of screwing up the USA!
We were raised singing this!
OK, so we know things went in the tank under Carter's watch, but did he really screw up the USA? Or did he inherit problems caused by Nixon such as going off of the gold standard, historical events like the end of the Vietnam War and thus the withering of the military-industrial complex, and things in the Middle East caused by Israel?

he gets ridiculed for having paul volker do the short-term painful but long-term correct thing by raising interest rates to keep the economy from overheating and thereby keeping inflation and excess liquidity(bubbles) from happening. his economic policies were too complicated and correct for most of the public to understand.oil price shocks were beyond his ability ,or beyond his desire to mitigate. he could probably have worked a shady deal with opec to maintain low prices but I think he understood better than most the consequences of dealing with the devil.I (unlike most conservatives) at least give him credit for trying to rescue the hostages. He advocated energy conservation before most politicians had even heard of the concept. And don't forget he partied with Willie Nelson on the roof of the white house, how fooken' cool is that?

I met Carter in the late '70's - both time at the White House no less
The 70's are the blueprint for the beginning of what is to come - and Carter is the pre-eminent example of why we are so very very f**ked.
'merkans don't want to hear the truth - it hurts their brains. So they didn't listen then and they won't listen now either.

I saw an interview today on CBC Newsworld with Heather Hiscox. Jimnmy Carter, at age 86 is coherent, thoughtful and engaged with the inteviewer. He has really put a lot of effort ito this new book, and he paints a lot of the background issues as to why the middle eaast struggle will ocntinue ad infinitum., unless social circusmtances are changed expecialy with the Palestinians.
It is a startling contrast to George W. Bush. Bush seems to either unfocused or he is trying to score short verbal javbs, which often don't fit into the context, as if he's been coached on what to say, but poorly coached. Also, at times, Bush seems to fall into a vacant expression. I really wonder wonder if Carter is not more astute right now to be president than is Bush.
I would not be surprised if Carter has written more books in his lifetime than Bush has read in his.

Let our position be absolutely clear: An attempt by any outside force to gain control of the Persian Gulf region will be regarded as an assault on the vital interests of the United States of America, and such an assault will be repelled by any means necessary, including military force.
This, the key sentence of the Carter Doctrine, was written by Zbigniew Brzezinski, President Carter's National Security Adviser.
Serious stuff We tried. Carter did not respond.
We wonder how the Iran matter will play-out.

Essential non-gas-wasting travel, of course!
I plan to stop at Arizona Cholla coal-fired electric generation plant to take some pictures.
I am curious on how they unload coal from trains.
There may be several Sharin [Shirin] Neshats. Or maybe only one?

Yes, she was in Venice Biennal. She is also a political activist, and has made few short movies. Her father Timsar Ali Neshat was the commander of the Imperial guard during the Shah regime and was executed by IRI.

The video is interesting to watch, but even better is to look at the comments. The amount of anger being displayed. I think we're very well into the transition from denial into anger as was said earlier.
