For a minute there I thought I had to get off my couch, when all the while the fact is we don't have to do anything much but keep things afloat for just a few decades more! In fact, we'd best shut up about PO, because if our offspring finds out we knew about it all along, they'll turn and wring our necks come 2036!
While the average home solar system is about five kilowatts, Mr. Felton’s is 45 kilowatts, and he seldom sees an electric bill. Borrego Solar estimated the system could save Mr. Felton almost $2 million over 30 years — far more than the $255,000 the system cost him after a $134,000 rebate.
$255K for a 45kW system = $5.66/W. That's actually cost effective in California? Regardless, I'm glad to see solar getting some love since it drops 20% in cost every time it doubles in capacity.

I don't see what you mean by that, unless you're talking purely of economies of scale (which have limits in this arena) or concentrating solar power. The latter is not as simple as it may seem for photovoltaics, as varying concentrations across the cell structure limits the capacity, and heat dissipation can be an issue.

The complexity of financing Solar Power has held many back.
The new business model of 3rd party financing & customer leasing will dramatically increase market implementation of Solar PV. _________________ Join The Solution Switch to Solar Power
