I've tried several times to post in the Europe discussion but it seems I can't.
I get this every time: (error 406)
Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /gate.html could not be found on this server.
Any help would be appreciated
thanks

I've had the same problem. It usually happens when I copy a quote from somewhere with some unicode characters, like when a foreign website has an "i" with two dots instead on one. This site can't handle those special keyboard characters. But there are several ways to deal with this problem so your post can go though.
Solutions
A.
Look though your post for any characters that look like they are not in the US alphabet. The problem will probably be in your quote.
B.
Copy your post to a text editor.
Copy half of your post to the post window and press preview
If the server gives you an error, the problem character is in that half of your post. Repeat this process to find the offending character and replace it with something typed from an English keyboard or a keyboard in English character mode.
C.
If you are on a windows machine, copy your post to notepad. Save the post to your desktop. If notepad tells you some character are in unicode and will be lost unless you save in a different format, don't change the format and save. Then close notepad and open the file from your desktop. The file on your desktop should be missing the offending characters, but this is not an ideal solution.
Why it happens
The reason the server here has this problem has to do with how the database is set up. The server is not set up for displaying languages other then English, so the server complains with the same error as notepad. This server/website handles posts by putting them into a big database and putting together the pages from this database. The database is made up of data files for managing forums and posts. This website was probably originally designed for people in the US, so for people using a US Keyboard. To handle posts in a unicode format would require changing data filing settings in the database, which would be a lot of work.
I hope this helps... |

Thanks steam cannon. It was the accent on the word "cafe".
I've uploaded it now successfully. |
