Coal, Tar Sands, Heavy Oil, Intermediate Oil, Light Sweet Crude, Fission, Fusion, Anti-Matter, Mass Conversion, Zero Point Energy.......
Up through Anti-Matter they are all things we know are at least possible in physics. Mass Conversion is like Anti-Matter without the messy anti-matter being needed. ZPE, well nobody has managed to produce even a few watts of power yet, but if it ever works there will be no energy boundries, just the regular physical ones. Also up through ZPE the rest of them are all stored energy in one form or another, even mass conversion is just taking matter created in the Big Bang and changing it from mass to gamma rays and harnessing the gamma rays like we do with Fission/Fusion/Anti-matter.
Funny thing is non of the classical renewables even gets a mention, Wood, Solar, Wind, Hydro, Tidal......

Howdy Drew! 'Fraid I've been spending most of my time reading and posting to gardening/canning/boring girl stuff.
"Shiny" is a term for "cool" in a futuristic, short-lived tv series, called Firefly. I'm a big fan of the writing, and the family-of-choice survival scenario it features. |
