Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.
Today, Podhoretz’s calls for bombing Iran are being echoed in the administration. According to Newsweek, Vice President Cheney considered a plan to allow Israel to conduct missile strikes against Iran “in an effort to draw a military response from Iran, which could in turn spark a U.S. offensive against targets in the Islamic Republic.”
Podhoretz has argued that “if we were to bomb the Iranians as I hope and pray we will…we’ll unleash a wave of anti-Americanism all over the world that will make the anti-Americanism we’ve experienced so far look like a lovefest.”
Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter on Wednesday denounced Vice President Dick Cheney as a "disaster" for the country and a "militant" who has had an excessive influence in setting foreign policy.
Cheney has been on the wrong side of the debate on many issues, including an internal White House discussion over Syria in which the vice president is thought to be pushing a tough approach, Carter said.
"He's a militant who avoided any service of his own in the military and he has been most forceful in the last 10 years or more in fulfilling some of his more ancient commitments that the United States has a right to inject its power through military means in other parts of the world," Carter told the BBC World News America in an interview to air later on Wednesday.
Historians of the future are going to burn Cheney at the stake. _________________ "Thank you for attending the oil age. We're going to scrape what we can out of these tar pits in Alberta and then shut down the machines and turn out the lights. Goodnight." - seldom_seen

Okay. Go ahead.
For starters let's try this:
1. Handed over control to the Panama Canal for nothing in return, no guarantees, concessions or anything despite that the US had built and protected the canal for decades.
2. Single handedly responsible for the power seizure by Islamic extremists in Iran which is now the #1 sponsor of terrorism in the world.
3. Allowed American diplomats to be held captive for over a year, launched a botched rescue mission that had no chance of success and led to the deaths of American servicemen.
4. Price controls on oil that led to shortages, gas lines, and chaos.
5. May have engaged in treasonous activity in by "enlisting the help of the Soviet Union in the 1980 and 1984 presidential elections."(source)
6. Labeled Israel an apartheid state in his book, Peace, Not Apartheid, and was found to have plagiarized material in his book from other sources.
7. Carter insists that Hamas is a non-violent organization and is frequently sympathetic to the group. And was an admirer of Yasser Arafat despite his record of terror and violence.
8. "He defied US law by visiting Cuba, even addressing the Cuban public and handing Castro a huge propaganda victory. He oversaw the elections in Haiti, against the expressed wishes of the Clinton administration. A coup followed."(link)
9. "Carter once described Yugoslav strongman Marshal Josef Tito as "a man who believes in human rights." Regarding North Korea's dearly departed Kim Il-Sung, Carter found him "vigorous, intelligent, surprisingly well-informed about the technical issues, and in charge of the decisions about this country," adding "I don't see that [North Koreans] are an outlaw nation."(id)
10. "He was similarly generous regarding Manuel Noriega, Romanian dictator Nicolai Ceaucescu and, of course, Yasser Arafat. He said of Ceausescu and himself, "Our goals are the same: to have a just system of economics and politics . . . We believe in enhancing human rights."(id)
11. Carter was a failure as an election monitor for Venezuela's election of President Hugo Chavez. Chavez was eager to have Carter observe, "Under Jimmy Carter's watchful eye, Hugo Chavez defeated the recall attempt by a wide margin -- reflecting almost a mirror-image of the opinion polls.
While two out of three Venzuelans polled before the election wanted Chavez out, when the ballots were counted, Chavez was declared the winner by an almost exact opposite margin. "About 58 percent said 'no' to a recall, while 42 percent said 'yes,'" wrote the Washington Post.
Carter ignored a press release from the polling firm Penn, Schoen & Berland Assoc. that reported, "Exit Poll Results Show Major Defeat for Chavez." The release, dated 7:30 p.m. on election day, said, "With Venezuela's voting set to end at 8 p.m. EST according to election officials, final exit poll results from Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates, an independent New York-based polling firm, show a major victory for the 'Yes' movement, defeating Chavez in the Venezuela presidential recall referendum."(id)
12. Carter traveled to North Korea without the blessing of the Clinton administration, brokered a deal without approval. Clinton later agreed to the terms anyway, but Carter was even willing to undermine the foreign policy of a Democrat administration.(source)
13. Realizing Carter's weakness, the USSR felt free to invade Afghanistan in a war purely for conquest. Free from a having a pro-American state in Iran since the Shah's fall, the Soviets were free to march into Afghanistan without serious worries of American retaliation. The war would then drag on until 1989. Fortunately, Reagan supplied the mujaheddin with weapons and wore down the Soviets in central Asia while challenging them economically and militarily throughout the world.
14. Speaking at Emory University Carter declared that it was “almost inconceivable” that Iran would actually attack Israel. He also stated that the regime poses no threat to Israel or the United States.
15. Carter cut the defense budget as the USSR was massively increasing its weapons production and violating the SALT I and II treaties.
16. Carter allowed communist forces to take over Africa and did not stand up to Cuba for sending troops to aid in the revolution.
17. The US jobless rate during the Carter years hit 10% and inflation hit 15%. (for the record, the Dow Jones set a new record high this week and unemployment is at historic lows while inflation is well under control, thank you President Bush)
18. Cater claimed to have been attacked by a killer rabbit while on a fishing trip in Georgia.
The guy is a total nutcase!
And I love this one.
Carter's comments come on the heels of an October 4 article in The New York Times disclosing the existence of secret Justice Department memorandums supporting the use of "harsh interrogation techniques." These include "head-slapping, simulated drowning and frigid dunking.
Oh the horror!@!..... Meanwhile. Islamo's behead/stone prisoners at an unprecedented rate!

Iran was America's closest ally in the Middle East until Jimmy Carter withdrew US support from the Shah, allowing Islamic fundamentalist nuts to take over Iran and then invade our embassy in Tehran.
Now Iran is America's worst enemy, Iran supports and arms Hizbollah and similar terrorist groups throughout the middle east, Iran is supplying the "shaped charges" used in mines by the insurgents in Iraq to blast through our armored vehicles and kill thousands of U.S. troops, and Iran is about to go nuclear.
And all thanks to Jimmy Carter!!! _________________ "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." -- George Orwell

Now, what can you tell us about Dick Cheney? _________________ "Thank you for attending the oil age. We're going to scrape what we can out of these tar pits in Alberta and then shut down the machines and turn out the lights. Goodnight." - seldom_seen

When his turn came to serve in Vietnam, Cheney used the marriage deferment to get deferred four times in a row.
Then the law was changed such that marriage alone was not sufficient for a deferment, but one had to have a child as well.
Nine months and a week later, Mrs. Cheney gave birth to their first child. No doubt the Cheneys must have been working hard for that first child:-) Must have been terribly hard work! Poor ol' Dick must have been exhausted! Richard too! Not to mention his wife! Richard's wife, that is.
For this, he got his fifth deferment, thereby avoiding altogether the type of duty to which the current administration's policies have consigned over 150,000 of America's finest and bravest citizens.
For which he has earned a cute little nickname that is popular among those who are presently serving: Five-Deferment Dick.
Yes, as all conservatives will agree, the 1960s certainly were bad for America! Draft-dodging became a national pastime! And the stinky rotten influence of that decade is still with us, as we have not just one, but two draft-dodgers in the White House! What a disgrace!
