The post-peak oil, post-housing bust economy is already driving most crazy, and we won't even get to the food riot stage for maybe two more years.

Came across this on the net some time ago:
seac

They are based in Yandina.

About seac:
Quote:
SEAC is run by a group of volunteers, educators and activists who are passionate about the environment and the future of society. We believe that we need to take responsibility for our own actions and that we can all be part of positive solutions to these global crises.

Our reason for being

Our reason for being is to raise awareness about peak oil and facilitate Regional Energy Descent Action Planning and Preparedness. Climate change and peak oil are converging at this point in history and forcing society to rethink its relationship with and dependence on fossil fuel. We must rapidly reorganise and change our reliance on oil. Our overuse and abuse of oil has changed the global climate and we have created a society totally dependant on oil – a finite resource that is now in decline. We must build resilient and robust communities strong enough to take the shockwaves of peak oil and climate change.

Anyone here involved in seac or know about them and can share some more info besides what is on their website?
