Which saves more gasoline, Merrell, Montrail, or Vasque?

My new year's resolutions for 2008.

1. Hike at least 500 miles that I'd otherwise have driven.

2. Drive less than 2000 miles total during the entire year.

Regarding your thread title, originally I was hooked on Vasque, when the second pair wore out, I got a pair of Merrell. Either are superb!

Good goals!

Makes me want to 'take a walk' but it is single digits outside now.
