Thought since we were giving attention to Lake Lanier we should notice this also.

Quote:
Barcelona is to take the unprecedented step of importing water by ship to prevent a water crisis prompted by extreme drought. The emergency measure, to start next month, indicates dramatically how climate change has affected one of Europe's most developed cities – a metropolis known for its efficient infrastructure.

By ship? Yeah, that's going to be a good long-term fix--NOT!

We should have seen this coming.

The dry countries of Mediterranean Europe are underpaying for water, especially compared to their wet northern neighbors.

It might make sense to start building aqueducts to carry water from soggy Germany to Spain, no?

Just in case someone wants to cross reference with precipitation.

You are right. What other countries, and their problems, have we neglected to discuss how they will affect us? (awkward sentence-sorry!)

Spain is retarded; it has severe flooding in some sectors and drought in others.... there's no shortage of water for the country as a whole it just needs to construct a water transportation network (a big pipe) that runs from the flooded areas to the drought-stricken ones.

the problem is that the weather patterns have changed making hte south-east of spain drier while the north-west gets flooded

Looks like this water situation is causing some scuffles between Spanish regions.

Severe Spanish drought sparks regional water stoush

This is a mere taster for what is to come.
