We cannot drill our way out of this oil crisis. Since 2000, oil companies working in the U.S. have doubled the number of wells drilled per year.

Although increased drilling has added new oil to the nation's supply, it has not done so fast enough to offset the terminal decline of existing fields.

We are going to have to import more of our oil. Period.

Thanks DD!

We are currently storing about 3 gallons of oil for our family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids.

It is good to know that we can put it in the freezer and get 5 years out of it as that's about how long it will take us to use 3 gallons.

I have canned butter before. It is supposed to last about 5 years. I've had it around for about a year before opened, works just fine. Once opened it lasts about a week at room temp, more if kept refrigerated, but tends to be too stiff to spread.

I thought this thread would discuss When the amount of calories you get from eating a dollar bill is higher than the calories of food it can buy. That is what i call inflation.

ameros per callous in 2010 is probably the right ratio to be thinking of if you are below median income in the US.
