Meanwhile, keep watching for shortage reports, because we should start seeing some sneak in this week, if our doom-o-meter is calibrated correctly.

Very true. I work from home in an extremely specialized field, for which the talent pool is small. I can't grow my business because it would (probably) be impossible to find a skilled worker in this part of the country.

Speculation is short term

we are talking about long term.

So misterno, just what qualifies as long term?
When you say oil will always be less than $100, how long does the price have to be above $100 to falsify your statement?

Really?!?
So if 'always less than' means at it isn't higher than $100 for at least a year, what does 'a short period of time' mean in your world?!? ;D

Sorry if I was unclear. Let me try again.

When most people say 'oil will always be less than $100' it means the same as 'oil will never reach $100'

Now, since it is obvious that oil HAS indeed reached $100, you were asked if you were aware of this.
You replied that your statement didn't really mean that oil would not reach $100 except for a brief period of time.

I asked what constituted a long enough period of time for oil to be over $100 to make your statement incorrect. You responded a year.

The statement 'oil will never reach $100' and
'oil won't reach and then stay above $100 for a year or longer' don't really seem to have the same meaning, do they?

Give up and admit you're wrong. Then we can respect you.

Your position is idiotic, or worse.

Where are you people getting speculating from? Yes some people are hedging against the dollar, but in no way is that speculating.

$117.

This thread should never, never go away.

Let's make this thread a little monument to denial. When the paper has the $150 a barrel headline, I want to be able to pop into this forum and smile, fondly remembering the good ol' days.

This thread should be moved to the "Comedy" or "Humour" section, or if there is no such section, create one special for this thread! How funny!

And also funny it is the conviction with which the autor named the title.. all in CAPS ... guess what !! OIL ALREADY IS 17% more than YOU SAID IT WILL NEVER BE! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

So the subject of this thread should really be:

WHY OIL WILL ALWAYS BE LESS THEN $100*

* aside from brief periods of more than $100, which will be considered irrelevant because they are only 12 months.

Dude, admitting you're wrong is a very respectable thing to do.
