For a minute there I thought I had to get off my couch, when all the while the fact is we don't have to do anything much but keep things afloat for just a few decades more! In fact, we'd best shut up about PO, because if our offspring finds out we knew about it all along, they'll turn and wring our necks come 2036!

Do they have any value?

A lot of calories packed in and basic nutritional allowances. Does anyone know how long they can last or how to preserve them?

They have lots of value!! whey protein powders and even better yet if your looking for calories they have weight gainers that are 2000 calories a shake. My whey protein (just looked at the label) has a shelf life for about a year. But you must have solid foods. The body was not designed to run on liquid supplements. But in my opinion they could strech the life of your stock by only eatting one or two small meals a day and supplement one weight gainer drink.
Just to note also supplement powders AREN'T cheap.

...but on a calorie to calorie basis? I'll have to do the math on my Muscle Milk. The other thing is that the serving sizes can be cut in half and still be better than nothing.
