Seriously guys, you are offered to vote for Zag or Zog and this is called democracy? How did it come to this, that people have to choose , and not elect?

The underlying cynicism in this statement is harsh. Even if one thinks Hillary is an opportunist, or Obama is actually allied with TPTB, one has to recognize they got to where they are today by a lot of travelling and communication efforts on their parts.
There were other choices out there too who put in effort, maybe not as much, or maybe even more, but the people have made their choices and now its just Hillary and Obama left.
If Hillary is wrong about bailing abut the automakers, that does not imply America is not a democracy. Just the reality that people here are debating the merits of her policies is itself a demonstration of democracy and something to delight in.

Spare us the high school civics class pep rally. They got were they are by making a lot of promise to a lot of powerful people who do very bad things in the world. People with honesty, integrity, and morality don't get invited to that party. You get there by proving your willing to screw a lot of people to benefit those that buy you a ticket.
The United States doesn't have elections. It has auctions, and I don't know anyone who is in the income bracket to be able to bid.

Yes, exactly! You do not elect, you choose. Zag and Zog had put more effort to be chosen than Zig, Zug and Zeg. You are free to choose, but no matter what President's name will have 3 letters, first Z and the last G.

These are like urban legends. On one hand, I can't disprove that either Clinton or Obama have made some kind of secret undertakings and commitments, but how can you prove it either? It seems paranoia is the accepted normal behavior around here.
I realize politicians are often equated to dirtbags, but even they have the right to be deemed innocent until proven guilty, don't they?

So, what kind of proofs do you have, even if not exhaustive, just who are Obama and Clinton courting for support? (Or, better said, maybe, who is courting them from "the TPTB"?)

Every president since there has been a United States has pandered to the wealthy and powerful and has worked actively to screw everyone else. If you see some reason to think that Clinton and Obama are somehow different from their 40 some predecessors, then I'm all ears. Perhaps you could start by explaining how they plan to raise the half billion dollars they'll need without utterly prostituting themselves.

I think most people realize this. Hence the appalling voter turnout in the US and other G-7 countries. Here's the new boss...etc.
But it would be cool to see Obama as president. He might be just as bad as anyone else, but at least he would engender some love from the rest of the world. Which might be useful, for no other reason that the US is on a downward spiral, and could use some help from the more liberal countries in the world.

PostPosted: Sat May 03, 2008 7:19 am    Post subject: Ron Paul Supporting the new JFK Add User to Ignore List Reply with quote

Quote:
Having a Republican win the upcoming presidential election is “secondary” for Paul who is more interested in defending the Constitution, having the country go in what he considers the right direction, having a sound currency, and achieving balanced budgets. Paul parts ways with McCain over McCain’s support for the Iraq war, his approach to U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and his willingness to spend federal dollars to support military operations in Iraq.

Instead, Paul favors Sen. Barack Obama because of positions on foreign policy. “But that’s doesn’t mean that’s an endorsement,” Paul quickly added.

There's a video along with the article.

Ron Paul hearts Obama?

Who would've imagined that?

"They can no longer be a cartel"
--Hillary Clinton

Hillary will smash the OPEC cartel

First she blamed the "speculators" for high gas prices. Then she blamed US "big oil" companies. Now she's blaming OPEC and is ranting about ending the OPEC cartel.

She's getting warmer.

Nothing to see here, folks. Just a politician pandering to the masses.

Move along.
