Hoarding is exactly what the government is doing right now by filling the SPR, and frankly it's the best thing that could happen. It drives prices up. High prices encourage demand destruction. They also finance new well development. The hoarded oil gives us a buffer to fall back on once shortages become more prevalent. High prices are what we need in order to adapt to what's coming, and the sooner they happen, the better.

Another dummy question.

If I want to link to another site, how do I make the nice blue underlined link say what I want it to and not look like some long http monstrosity like this?:

Use your handy Link Maker button, the one that looks like this:

1. Copy your link's URL.
2. Click the Link Maker button. You'll be asked for the URL first, then the name of the link.

Thus these results: View more Emoticons

I started a thread the other day on Posting Tips but no one 'cept zensui took an interest so ah well. I show a couple other ways to make those nifty links there if you're interested.

I like to use http://tinyurl.com/ sometimes:

Example: wrote:
Title: About Something
Link: http://tinyurl.com/5ene2

Text: "tinypic.com is great for posting images..."

Tinyurl.com works great for making short urls. The make URL
button is good, but I think using a link visually flows better.

Sorry, you aren't allowed to make links nice. It's a conspiracy.

Another bit of advice, don't click the Post button if you're in a subzero environment! Laughing

You might enjoy this brief page of Posting Tips, too.
