I prefer a 2007 Chevy Tahoe loaded with as much stuff as possible.

Actually the best bug out vehicle if you live near the ocean is a sailboat. I would have all sorts of water and food stashed in it and take off from New York City for example. You won't get out any other way if there is some kind of a calamity. Don't step foot on land until you get to Maine or Bermuda depending on the season. Here's a Buzzard's Bay 14 that is really seaworthy for such a small boat.

Other choices could be the Norseboat, the Drascombe Lugger or the Bullseye sloop. _________________ Deep in the mud and slime of things, even there, something sings. |

| Perhaps those folks seeing him as far away as Cali were "seeing him" after they dropped a little acid. Appears he was also by the shape of that vehicle. Not sure if there's a perfect bug out system. Backpack and shoes combined with vehicle gives one options. |

Here's the other bug out vehicle we're building right now. With 2 solar panels it wouldn't need any charging at all. Keep moving and have somebody ride shotgun for real, and you could bug out with this:

A vehicle with a top speed of 25 mph doesn't seem like a good bug out vehicle. I assuming the 25 mph is for a flat, smooth surface not going uphill or off the road. It seems people could catch you quickly on foot or bike.

I already did:
Any more bugging will be as Cur suggested; on Shank's Mare. _________________ Make a plan and work it: |

I don't know about that. If they freeze prices or mess with "speculators" we could be looking at shortages any time soon. Check out this other thread:

My bug-out vehicle is my 2001 Ford Ranger with shell. It's already seen service in this capacity in advance of Katrina in 2005. Goes where a sedan won't, carries all of the stuff I care to carry, gets decent mileage. The only reason I'm worried about mileage is that waiting in gas lines is a drag. I also usually have a few gas cans full in the barn, as my tractor is a gas-burner... _________________ WWJD? What would Joel Salatin do? |
