Oh crap! There's my bug-out vehicle! |
What are the chances of that actually happening???
Especially since I live in a 1 story house and park outside.

My concern would be for the possibility that a running vehicle becomes a target. I always identify two things when I enter a metro area for any period of time. first is the safe place to hit the ground and hide if need be. The second is the railroad tracks out of town. I also try to gauge the time it would take to hike from the place I would go to ground to the outer metro. If it would take about six hours and the sun is coming up at 630 am, then I can stay hidden until a little after midnight. If the power is out than that should be long enough. Once on the tracks i hit a jog until I am out.
I would rather be discrete than fast. _________________ Nature is complete because it does not serve itself.

I assume if the foe was zombie hordes, you would just reverse the order above and hoof it during the daylight, right? _________________

A rule to live by:
Never let you gas gauge go below 3/4 ever.
I do that due to potential earthquake and potential gas spike from major oil disruption.

Why stop there??

Whatever. My bug out shelter is 10 feet away... Running water/toilet/shower (well). Just need a generator and a couple thousand gallons of gas. A large brick wall around the property would help and lots of dogs. I don't need a stinking vehicle! _________________ "Oil is going up because we use too much oil, and the capacity to replace reserves is dwindling"
