Hey Airlinepilot, where would I look to find out how many commuter jets the major airlines buy in an average year vs how many they have been buying recently?

Figures like those might be solid evidence of where they are headed vs all the speculation I see on this and other threads.

AirlinePilot, do you happen to have any graphs showing the increase in jet fuel prices over the past years?

Boy, these guys sure didnt do a very good job of forecasting! Check out the graphs and estimates on this page. I wouldnt be hiring them anytime soon.

And the Upward climb continues.....

Avgas 5.06

Jetfuel 3.46

I'd say we will be at the point fairly soon, where you start pricing a lot of General aviation flying right out of the market. A good portion of small aircraft flying is purely recreational.

I'm starting to think that we will have zero warning when we reach certain price levels which have some sort of cascading effect on the rest of the economy. If we are not there already I wonder what it will take?
