I love that you guys bust my chops same as any other member.
As far as labels... well we looked for some way, other than post count, to signify posters of exceptional quality.
Until we can upgrade to better forum software with things like Karma...
I hate hackers.
Forgot to mention- I love that you are a tolerant (dark humored) and somewhat libertarian soul who doesn't interfere too much with what happens here- even if it gets weird. Thank you so much for your time and energy for keeping this thing running- I assume- essentially for free.
And I also LOVE all the moderators who donate their time so freely without too much thanks back. So here it is.....Thank YOU!

I like PO.com because it's um.....cool...and it's..... um....fun, and I learn things?....my middle school student personality!
Hate:
The racist crap is rather annoying and gets old real quick, but it just lets us know that there are still shitheads among us that have bigger problems than PO.

I love the diversity of the posters here. We have everything from trolls, uber-doomers, cornucopians, newshounds, economists, analysts, oil men, extreme liberals, libertarians, conservatives, neo-cons, racists, horticulturalists, farmers, intellectuals, hippies, a commie , a village idiot, and quasi-religious philosopher whose writings I find entertaining as they are perplexing. Experts of many stripes and widely varying knowledge and experience. Two things I think everyone here has in common is (at least) above average intelligence and the ability to think critically.
I have learned a great deal in my 4 years of membership, about a wide variety of topics. I think the Inventory, housing, and record price threads deserve special mention.
I appreciate the mods for letting everyone speak their piece, even if it goes against conventional wisdom. After all, doesn't the very idea of peak oil go against conventional wisdom?
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I think this is the best damned forum on the 'net because all viewpoints are tolerated -- even expounded upon at great length, and because the mods don't try to influence the discussion too much, unlike some boards.
No one can say that posters at PO.com are all of one mindset. From JohnDenver to Roccman, from Plantaganent to Eastbay, we got it all baby!
A heartfelt Thank You everyone who takes the time to post here. I learn something from each and every one of you whether I like it or not.

Me too. There have been a few threads I would have liked to share with my kids but won't because they're poisoned with foul language and mean or unkind remarks.
And Thuja, I agree with your perspective on the designations. I'm sure others do too, but won't say anything out of a concern they might upset the managers. I think a few really smart people, experts in many areas, aren't getting the 'expert' designation because for one reason or another a manager or two simply doesn't like them for reasons unrelated to the content of their contributions. And conversely, others who may not be experts at anything get the designation because the managers happen to personally like them. But then again, they run the place, and that's how things have been done since long before the Sumerians. This isn't a complaint, it's an expression of opinion, nothing more. _________________ Got Dharma?

As an opinion, I don't like the designations either.
Also my opinion is that titles (and the associated pissy-fights) do not matter one iota to what any member contributes to the well being of any reader here.
Is this still a computer game, a fantasy to you folks?
There are lots of people who read this site for real information and we are still bitching about who has what label!
Crap, this is more like Junior High all the time!
Grow up and help out or go to facebook or whatever the kids with overflowing angst do.

Critical thinking is commonplace around here, as is common sense. It is also impossible to get away with not doing your research. Put up a statement without documentation to support it, you get cut to pieces.
Oh now I've got one to add, when I'm down and blue, and not knowing what to do, I can always find a statement like the quote above and I won't stop laughing for a SOLID 5 minutes.
Thank God for the experts and their ability to invoke peals of laughter and gaiety even on a rainy day. _________________ Freddy RULZ!
