Hoarding is exactly what the government is doing right now by filling the SPR, and frankly it's the best thing that could happen. It drives prices up. High prices encourage demand destruction. They also finance new well development. The hoarded oil gives us a buffer to fall back on once shortages become more prevalent. High prices are what we need in order to adapt to what's coming, and the sooner they happen, the better.

"drill domestically in environmentally friendly ways"
he needs to lay off the crack...
even if these ways were not "environmentally friendly" there is still not enough oil to go around...
for if there were we would not be growing food for our cars. _________________ "There must be a bogeyman; there always is, and it cannot be something as esoteric as "resource depletion." You can't go to war with that." Emersonbiggins

He's still pushing the increased supply angle more than the reduced demand angle, based on some kind of blind faith that the untapped oil is enough to help.
He really has no idea what kind of mitigation is possible. He's just built his policy on a lot of wishful thinking and bad influence.
It's funny when I hear Bush speak because there is just no way in hell this simpleton is the top of a conspiracy pyramid. If there is any kind of conspiracy stuff going on, the buck stops with Cheney.
