and a couple of things that I can't remember... good thing I wrote them down in the notebook.
I like using a spreadsheet for note keeping as you've probably seen. You can make some great notes and calculations much faster electronically. Plus you can include pictures. _________________ About my avatar: Guess.

Obviously you can, and your new topic is now several pages long.
The next new poster who wants the answer to Their Question will do the same next year.
Unfortunately, experienced posters won't keep posting the same thing over and over on identical threads and the opinion you seek may be their's.
Thats the reason for the Index and the reason we encourage Members to bump those threads.
Pops,
What is po.com's policy with regard to how many pages should be in a thread? Aren't we on the second "Today I Made/bought/Learnt" thread as MarkL decided?
No one wants to read through 60 pages of a thread for example.
Sorry, didn't mean to get too far off-topic.
Meanwhile, the vicious winds recently literally blew some of my young corn plants over to the ground! Dang! The sunflowers don't like 40+ mph wind gusts either.
Weird weather.

Yep, my main garden, which is more exposed, is getting the heck beat out of it by this wind. My second biggest garden, surrounded by trees, is doing much better. It doesn't dry out as fast. I may gradually abandon the main garden this drought year, and concentrate on the more protected gardens.
But it's sad to give up on my sweetcorn! _________________ No original ideas are contained in this post.

Two things:
Some threads try to keep up with current events, what someone is doing "today" does not necessarily need to read through the others. They can, they will benefit from it but the idea of that thread is to chronicle the present.
There are also threads which there is a lot of passion for about which there will be no lack of participants.
I know it is hard, and I myself am of two minds on the issue, but those who are the most experienced have already answered some questions a dozen times over the last two years. they get tired... they get persnickety, they stop responding.
If you want some of the best answers, it is worth the investment of time to use the search or to go to the forums page and read through the index until you see something that might help.
There is gold in them there hills!
Otherwise you get my answer and I am liable to tell you to use your Chevy Tahoe as a raised garden bed

Like I told BAM there isn't a rule, sometimes the long threads are somewhat unresponsive so they get split.
I'm the Dinosaur here, I keep thinking people come here looking for information, but I'm slowly learning they just want to talk.
That isn't a bad thing in itself, don't get me wrong, just that there is lots of good info that gets lost.
But hey, if one can find pftf to talk, I suppose one can find good info somewhere else.
