The oil price has climbed more than $6 after a report suggested it could reach $150 by July and amid remarks by Israel of an "unavoidable" attack on Iran.
Since this announcement, which coincided approximately with the JPM announcement of 150, oil is up about 10 bucks a barrel.
Any thoughts on whether this is responsible for a substantial portion of the increase?
We all agree, I think, that Israel starting a war with Iran means 200 dollar oil and instant depression.
Of course, I do agree with the article's contention that, " He stressed such an operation could only be conducted with US support."

Israel will start a war with Iran the same way it started the war with Iraq-- dragged US in and sent some "advisors" to teach how to kill arabs in a kosher way. If I am not mistaken there were no Itsreali soldiers in Iraq whatsoever. Whats a point to send Jewish boys when there are so many goyims available ( at someone else's cost! Hell yeah! )
I guess a similar war is planned by Israel with Iran too.

You raise many issues, but I'll try to address only one.
Is today's price rise due to Israel? I would say mostly a qualified yes, being that it's not the threat to Iran that's the biggest problem - but to the nearby Persian Gulf in the event of war. Our experience in the 1980s Iran-Iraq war was that insurers wouldn't insure some tankers, and charged others very high prices. It took the US Navy escorting tankers to return things to normal.
The $6 price rise yesterday was mostly due to the realization that OPEC exports won't be showing up as fast in the US and Europe as expected. _________________ It's already over, now it's just a matter of adjusting.

What Israel is now saying is not an idea or a threat, it's a promise. They are going to attack Iran. Iran will now definitely pursue nukes because of their hatred for Israel and the whole middle east will back Iran - or at the very least they weill NOT back Israel or their friends, ie the US and the UK. So expect Iran to turn off the taps very, very soon.
Then that's it. Forever.
This 'threat' is far more damning than the Bay of Pigs situation.

Prudent leaders in any country, given definitive statements like Israel's would take steps to defend themselves. It has very little to do with whether Iran hates Israel.
Given that we all know Israel has nuclear weapons and will in all likelihood use them, I too would be looking for the biggest stick I could find.
Still, Iran (or any other threatened country ) doesn't have to acquire nuclear weapons in order to mount an adequate defense. So, it is not a given that Iran will make nukes. _________________ Gravity is not a force, it is a boundary layer.

Admiral Thomas Moorer (former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) summed-up the Israeli-influence better than anyone else has... before or since...

Lest we forget... here's a photo of the USS Liberty after our Israeli friends strafed, bombed and torpedoed it on June 8, 1967, killing 34 American sailors.
After surveilling USS Liberty for more than nine hours with almost hourly aircraft over flights and radar tracking, the air and naval forces of Israel attacked our ship in international waters without warning. USS Liberty was identified as a US naval ship nine hours before the attack by Israeli reconnaissance aircraft and continuously tracked by Israeli radar and aircraft thereafter. Sailing in international waters at less than five knots, with no offensive armament, our ship was not a military threat to anyone.
The Israeli forces attacked without warning and without attempting to contact us. Thirty four Americans were killed in the attack and another 174 were wounded. The ship, a $40 Million Dollar state of the art signals intelligence platform, was later declared unsalvageable and sold for scrap.
Despite a near-universal consensus that the Israeli attack was made with full knowledge that USS Liberty was a US Navy ship, the Johnson administration began an immediate cover-up of this fact. Though administration officers continued individually to characterize the attack as deliberate, the Johnson administration never sought the prosecution of the guilty parties or otherwise attempted to seek justice for the victims. They concealed and altered evidence in their effort to downplay the attack. Though they never formally accepted the Israeli explanation that it was an accident, they never pressed for a full investigation either. They simply allowed those responsible literally to get away with murder.
