I think this is the beginnings of an economy based on perpetual growth and fossil fuel energy running headlong into geological energy constraints. Basically I see an undulatory downward path for the rest of my life. From here out, I think any rallies in our economic condition are going to be met with spiking commodity prices that knock us right back down.

There are also other people who might be able to help you. Once all the retards and useless people die off those who are left should be able to help out if your in trouble. It will be the one really good point about the collapse of this current society, assuming were not going back to serfdom.

when Bing and I were married fifteen years ago, we got a 25 pound bag of jasmin rice for something like eight bucks.
last month went to 8.99 then 10.99
her friend called two days ago from wallyworld and said had just gone to 16.99
another friend called today from the asian store in Austin, Texas and said same bag just went to 21.99

Who saw the movie "Titanic"?
Remember the musicians on the ship, realizing there was little hope in surviving, continued their art anyway. That's kind of how I feel at times.
But I can leave a mark. Someone may appreaciate the trees I'm planting, (esp. the pecan), long after I'm gone.

Its all good lived on the streets for ten years; have a "good" life now...four years ago had a sub-arachinoid anuerysm burst and was in a coma for three weeks, had to learn to walk and talk again (told my wife now I have to die again)...PO the only part I DON'T like is that some of the Bertram Deliverance types coming in the grocery are downright scary and aren't going to "take this layin down"

I think I was in about sixth or seventh grade the first time I remember reading that Robert Frost poem. It has been one of my favorites since that day. Thanks for posting it.

Right about now the goat kids are getting pretty big and fat on the good grass, the litters of meat rabbits are more than fryers, the hens are laying well & any chicks should be plenty big for the pot.
Our family wouldn't likely make it if we expected the garden to be the only source of food.
