Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

I keep two hives in my backyard in suburbia. No problem. Get started they improve the garden and are not a problem with kids. Also great in dealing with neighbors. They love local honey...also excellent source of medicine.

Gotta get land before I can get bees.
I had my bees on a family members land outside of town. They were about 100 feet from the house with no incidents in the three years I had them. Lawnmower came within about 15 feet of the hives and again, no problems. European honey bees are pretty docile as long you don't do anything like physically jarring the hive or crushing bees. Crushing one must release some kind of attack pheromone because there were a few times I accidentally crushed a bunch, within seconds the pitch of the hive goes from a nice gentle buzz to angry chainsaw sound.
An organic farm or something like that might be a good place. Farmer gets free polination, you get a place for your bees and honey. No insecticides to worry about.

Honey is pretty amazing stuff. In addition to being delicious, the stuff my lovely, doomed bees made for me kept extremely well. My folks discovred some jars of it from way back. Almost ten years old. It had partially crystalized to a creamy consistency so it was perfect for a spread. They put it on toast and stuff. Still as good as the day it went in the jar.

Apparently honey can last hundreds or even thousands of years and still be perfectly edible!

So far my bees are doing great!
Two full boxes of honey so far and they're working on a third!
My virgin queen hive didn't make it though
Will try rearing a new queen(s) soon.
I'll try to post some pics soon if I am able. _________________ "Switzerland is small and neutral. We need to be more like Germany, ambitious and misunderstood!" Futurama
