I think this is the beginnings of an economy based on perpetual growth and fossil fuel energy running headlong into geological energy constraints. Basically I see an undulatory downward path for the rest of my life. From here out, I think any rallies in our economic condition are going to be met with spiking commodity prices that knock us right back down.

When they are older, and 2/3 of humanity is dying in a global famine, they will wish they could go back to a time when their biggest worry was cable.

That just makes me sad. So illogical on multiple world views.

Makes you wonder what kind of crap their parents are telling them. Kids that age don't just decide to make signs and stage a protest out of the blue.

Well... life is boring without cable. So they look for other alternatives to kill their time.

There is more than enough entertainment these days. Over the air digital TV has way more choice than I ever had as a kid. BTW, cable isn't exactly a bargain either. Why don't they picket high cable bills, given that cable is a virtual monopoly?

Cable TV, like gambling, could be considered a tax on stupidity.

Since they properly spelled the simple words money and cable, they are obliviously a true proof that "No Child Left Behind" is working. Definitely college material and will be the future leaders of our country since they are selflessly actively involved in current issues.

Nice shades, definitely Hollywood materials.

Since they have nothing better to do, why not suit them up and airlift them to Fallujah? We've got terrorists defeat and Democracy to spread. Summer break has never been so fun.

I don't use the TV (and currently don't own one).
I have cable (it comes with my internet line), but I can't be bothered to buy a TV tuner or a TV set. I stopped watching TV years ago and feel just fine.

There are plenty of news sites to pick up what's happening, and PeakOil is the best daily source for news, good conversation and some of the best humour on the planet Smile

Laughing Laughing Nice Frank!

How pathetic that is, really. I also thought the same thing about "money" and "cable". Sad.

Nice to see kids getting outside instead of watching the idiot box! On a side note, have you noticed that the more channels you get the less there is to watch? When i was a kid I only had the 4 main UK channels(and i had to sit there holding the ariel to get channel 4) and always found something to watch. But now we have digital theres never anything worth watching on, and don't get me started on sky.
