Sorry but surviving with some sense of style and comfort is our goal. No one gets into our hot tub without bathing first. Period.
We can fill it from our wells, run it from any of the gensets and view the land below while relaxing. Our lawns are for the dogs to rub their butts on, thank you just they same:) .
We sure don't need to start out below the bottom of the barrel on the nicer things in life than those before us never had, to prove any points. Thus we do stash away those creature comforts that will help to pass the tough times, cases of wine, good booze and a few cigars from some island somewhere. A nip when off duty and a run to the outhouse is sure going to go further than hanging over some log and using pine cones.
Moral is a very important thing during stressful times. So to do our best to maintain a great moral within the group we have laid up nicer surprises for the guys and gals.... A warm bubble bath in the jetted indoor tub will go real far for most gals when they have been in lock down for weeks.... Just because you can do without is not a good reason to elect to do without. Just our point of view.... |

I think I would prefer Lamb's Ear. Mmmmm, soft.

Naw you mistake my point of view - if mine was the post to which you referred.
I don't attempt to stock enough of the good stuff to last my lifetime, I'm 50 and have had more than my share of good stuff. Leaving a foundation on which my Grandkids can build a decent life of their own is my overall goal. _________________ Make a plan and work it: |

A little water does not clean you just fine, but it can get you more room alone. _________________ People first, then things, then dollars.

| I always have at least 100# of BioKleen concentrated soap on hand (enough for 1000 washer loads). I also have over 100 gallons of bleach. I quit using TP years ago. A dedicated washrag and a 3# coffee can filled with water/soap/bleach mixture is WAY better than disgusting TP. |

| Soap is not a luxury if I am grubbing around in my garden (and you do not want to know where my fertilizer comes from) and then cooking and eating. |

| I know I have mentioned this before, but be careful what leaves you use for toilet paper. One of msy little patient showed up one day unable to sit on her rump after wiping herself with poison ivy!!! Oh that poor child-what a mess and a rash. |

| For the ladies - my daughter recently bought some reusable cloth feminine pads. They are really soft, and each one has a cover (like a pillowcase) and fastens in place with a snap. Washing is easy - water, bit of bleach and soap - and you could dry them in the sun. Cost is about $8 to $12 per pad, depending on size. People who are good with a sewing machine could make them easily enough, I'm sure. |

| I will be proud if I can take nice big poops. It will be a sign of prosperity. I just cut a hole in the ice, fill up some of my gadzillion (and growing) wine bottles with water (special butt water storage supply) and wash myself in style. Hopefully while wrapped in a nice warm blanket during wintertime or with a solar power fan during sweltering summers.... I'll just remember while I'm doing it that some people have to do with much less, probably my neighbors. I bet you could add some hydrogen peroxide to the water to make sure its free of bacteria and all the good stuff. Without wasting your water filters |

Loo roll, not much as bulky but was thinking of insulating my roof with it and using it at the same rate as global warming |
WOW!
I use 60 bars a year just in the shower. Our family of 3 needs about 200 bars a year! |
