Yes, Biofuel, I detect a major disturbance in the force. All of those rumors about international bank $$ transfers from NY. Gold up $25 this morning. Dow down beaucoup. Oil up beaucoup.

The stock market has really been the last leg standing. Now it's starting to crumble, finally. Death by a thousand cuts, and by a Fed running out of tricks.
The stock market is realizing that economic growth is mostly finished in this country, and perhaps on this planet, because the foot-loose and fancy-free fuels that have powered it are dancing out the door.
Without economic growth you cannot have generalized growth in the stock market.

I knew it was a bad omen when I woke up this morning to see Matthew Simmons as a guest on CNBC Europe breakfast news.
I knew it was really bad when I found out that they didn't invite him as the regular fruitloop to take a piss on (like they do now and then), but that they were taking him seriously.
Not that you shouldn't take him seriously, on the contrary.
However you know things are really going down the drain when CNBC the stronghold of cornucopian optimism is looking at Simmons for guidance.
