Completely off-topic, I suppose, but this thread lasted 400 pages total in "Current Energy News". Any reason to move it over here now?

When "Depletion Economics" became just "Economics" and now "Economics & Finance," the move actually makes a lot of sense. To be frank, much of what would be considered 'economics' is littered all over the board. This limits that obfuscation, in theory.

We changed some of the forums around. "Peak Oil Economics" just became "Economics & Finance". This thread, being about general economic holocaust, didn't fit in "Peak Oil Economics", but does fit in "Economics & Finance".

Thats fine, it makes sense.

I hope people find it, I have found it to be one of the better threads.

Lots of good stuff in this thing.

Here is a slideshow of pictures taken outside a IndyMac bank in California.

Lots of depositors wanting to get their money out for some odd reason. Looks like the bank failed for some odd reason. Don't worry though. This is just a fluke occurrence. It couldn't happen again. Not in America!

The NYSE fell 136 points to below 10,983, a key resistance point for many technical traders. At one point this morning the NYSE hit 10,917

New highs 10
New lows 515

which must be a record for 10:30 in the morning.

Expect a wide triggering of program trading sell orders later today and tomorrow. The next major resistance point is 7,400.

Oil fell to $136 a few minutes ago and that may give the market a brief reprieve. If pup55 is right and we have another decline in crude inventories this week, that reprieve may be very brief.

I will ask the staff to leave shadow threads when popular threads are moved. Thanks.

Oil down ...dollar down...odd...or maybe not.

When I shot my dog last week - even after he stopped breathing he twitched a bit.

So it goes.

This is a great time to look back on the past 12 months.

Cash and Treasuries may be boring, but better be 5% up than 25% down, no?
