| I propose a special 4-year board member tag near the avatar for members that have been on PO.com for at least four years. Such as a small mark that says '4 Years', 'Old-Timer' text, or something like that. And then maybe also one (for eventual) 6 and then 8-year members. |

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves.
I have a feeling the 6 year tags might be hard enough.
8 year tag?

I agree. 6 and 8 years members is a ways still a ways off.
Or perhaps there could be a special tag for members who joined during the first year PeakOil.com was created (2004). That might be better.
This mark next to the 2004 members' avatars might be good: (old geezer)
I still think this mark (instead of the orange bar) would be better for members with 'expert' status: |

I had to go dig up my own profile :

And digging up some historical charts, NYMEX crude oil was going for around $40 then, and is well over $140 now.
Wow.
Hmmm... you joined on my birthday.
Just sayin'

| Sorry to chime in as someone who was lurking since 2006 and only joined in 2007, but why add the status tag? Each post already has the date someone joined. |

| And we should have a King of the Internet tag for anyone who can prove they were hip to peak oil before 1998. And a Medal of Freedom. |

That wouldn't be me. I first learned about peak oil back in 2002. |

The class of '04 has gotten very vocal lately. I guess it's just "I told ya so," mentality. Face it, we've gone from being looked at as a bunch of tin foil hat survivalists into mainstream commentators. Back in '04, most of us thought that as we hit $85 or so per barrel, the country would wake up. But people's faith in a "return to normal" has proven to be much more solid than we thought. Back in '04, this site had a large cornucopian contingent. They are all but gone now. _________________ "That's the problem with mercy, kid... Not a bad idea. I'll run it up the flagpole.
Since you've brought up the subject of tags, though - what are the thoughts about some sort of tags to encourage better posts? For example, Hogan, you've started some outstanding threads - the one about bank failures being a recent example. What mechanisms could encourage more quality? _________________ Dieoff. Fun to watch.
