Meanwhile, keep watching for shortage reports, because we should start seeing some sneak in this week, if our doom-o-meter is calibrated correctly.

I just got 60 acres on a river with deer, coons, turkey and irrigation well and permit. Anyone interested in a trade or ?? Make a good hideout post oil. Lots of trees for firewood, plenty of good ground water. Currently in tall grass. Has sandpit on it too with fish with 8 foot chainlink fence around that part. NICE place.

Joel,

I'm confused. You're offering to trade the land for something? Or shelter at the land?

What are you interested in trading for? Because of land's value, you're going to be trading for something which has a lot of worth.

If I was in your shoes, I would only trade for physical gold, a cabin or a partial trade on a rainwater collection system (20K gallons worth of cisterns).

I have 5 awesome acres to sell or swap too. 25 miles from the Pacific Ocean on the Olympic Peninsula on a river, 10 miles from a small town but 4 hours away from any major population center. Trees, wildlife, etc. plus a trailer there already. Similar parcels are going for $90k+ we're going to put ours on the market at $40k. Any takers?

This might end up being a good blog. Connect ppl with the land available. I dont want it to be a real estate advertising site but lots of ppl want post oil places too. So keep it simple ppl

That sounds pretty awesome. I would love to see some photos, if you have them at hand.

Lots of photos!

This parcel was selected after a year of research with PO 100% in consideration. I believe it's still stocked with stuff too.

Wow, that's pretty amazing. So, do you have other land lined up for bugging out, or did some plans change regarding this location?

(hope I'm not too nosy)

Ask away!

I wrote about this somewhere else, but yeah, we moved from Portland, Oregon to Nashville, largely to combat my wife's severe seasonal affective disorder. If it were up to me, I'd NEVER live anywhere else but that piece of land. It is the most perfect PO place you could find for about a million different reasons. The NW climate is not for everyone. This land is literally in a temperate rain forest with its own warmer microclimate.

We have a place to bug out to here already lined up. Although it's not really sustainable like the place in Washington. You could literally live there forever with no FF inputs. The Quilayute people lived on that river for thousands of years.

Still trying to sell your parcel, jd? Maybe people are scared to cut a deal with Oscar the Death Cat! Laughing

We had a previous thread discussing jd's land, those interested might want to dig that up. Nice plot.

Good lord!! Maybe I need to reconsider our asking price... here's a smaller parcel (ours is 4.9 acres) down river a little ways that is not nearly as nice. And, they are asking $169,000.

Thanks Dude! I am a friendly death cat. Smile

I guess the difference with this thread is I'm open to trades now just like the OP.
