Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. I went to a restaurant auction the other day. Lots of nice stuff was going for more money than I wanted to spend. After the sale I was walking out back and saw someone piling food onto the loading dock. I asked what was going on. He said that they were clearing out the stock room. Then he said they were going to toss it so if I wanted anything to help myself.
I carted off several gallons of olive oil in steel cans, a case of cooking wine, several pounds of salt and about a case of baking chocolate. I didn't have time to get more before the truck came to take it.
Probably worth the effort to check the restaurants in your area. Many of them will be closing due to the downturn in the economy. The fixtures they auction -- the stores they dump. _________________ Civilization is a personal choice.
