Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

Nope.
Still don't support nukes, or coal, or oil drilling in wilderness areas. _________________ "...powerdown so soft and fluffy you'll think you're living in a pillow." - jboogy

You made your best call with the information you had.
No guilt required.
That's what you should be doing. _________________ Massive Human Dieoff must occur as a result of Peak Oil. Many more than half will die. It will occur everywhere, including where you live. If you fail to recognize this, then your odds of living move toward the "going to die" group.

What's that old saying? "A lack of planning on your part..." No, I'm not ready to screw up the little bit of remaining clean and unspoiled fragments of the earth because of the stupidity of others.
As an old friend of mine says "Fark 'em and feed 'em fish heads." Never thought that might become literal. _________________ Sarah Palin: Because what we really need right now is another inexperienced, inarticulate, personable, fundamentalist governor of an oil-dependent state for president.

I support thorium/breeder nukes. It's not something I think we should be dependent on indefinitely but I would like to see it as a way to bridge off of oil and bootstrap renewables as we gradually downsize our population (not that I think any of that will happen). _________________ http://doomsteaddiary.blogspot.com/

In the early eighties I voted conservative, for Maggie Thatcher. She closed all the coal mines & decimated British Industry.
10 years ago I voted for Labour, for Tony Blair and they have buggered up the rest of the country.
At the last & next election I did / will NOT vote for either, but for the best of any alternative. UKIP party - UK independance - out of Europe, another "Gravy train".
Politics STINKS - They are ALL a load of self gratifying arseholes, pandering to those who stuff them the biggest wad, or fill the communal trough with enough goodies for them to bury their snouts in.
Viva la revolution brothers. We Brits need THIS guy.

They are the very last kind of peoples you need for God sake !! Get a set of balls and kick your politicians in the nuts if they still have a pair!
Yes, Che used perhaps a bit too strongarm tactics. The way of the past. Just meant we need a STRONG leader, we all do, every country. Kick em in the nuts, YES, but HOW - only chance for common man is at elections, and our next one is 2 years away. We still get screwed, whoever is in power, it seems.
