Thanks for your friendly note. Welcome to PO.com. We actually are quite happy to see young people join the site.

Sorry our generation (the Boomers) has managed to screw things up so badly for your generation.

Most of you have no idea, but we have borrowed a lot of money (as the government and also as individuals) to pay for some of the things we wanted, and are going to leave you and your children with the responsibility of paying it back. Sorry we did not tell you about this earlier, but, well, you might have said "no".

You will also end up paying for our social security and medical benefits, when all start to retire in a few years. Thanks in advance for taking care of us.

We have used up most of the oil, driving our muscle cars back in the 70's (it was a lot of fun, sorry you missed it), and unfortunately, we have warmed up the planet with our exhaust, which will cause you no end of problems when you are our age, in about the year 2040. Sorry about that.

We won't even talk about the other tricks we have played on you. There's the food supply situation, antibiotic resistant diseases, the whole "genetic modification" stuff, the fact that we have let a lot of the roads and bridges get old without replacing them....we can tell you about all of that later, if you really want to know.

You and your waves have no idea, but you could actually put a stop to most of this stuff if enough of you got active, by doing things such as participating on this website, showing up for elections, and becoming active in your community.

Luckily, your generation is the most diverse, and most politically and socially active in history, with a deep appreciation for the environment, and a lot of you are quite bright, despite our systematic dumbing down of the educational system. I have high hopes that you will straighten things out before you turn everything over to our poor grandchildren. Unfortunately, up until now, most of this stuff has gone right over your heads. I am afraid once you figure it out, you will be really ticked off, as you should be.

Let us know if we can be of any help. I plan to help by getting the hell out of dodge (that's a saying we old timers used to say meaning "leave") and turning the whole thing over to you as soon as possible, so as to avoid screwing things up even worse. I only wish a few more of us would do the same thing.

Welcome! Good to see new faces around here. The people posting above are no doubt right about the monitoring, but personally I guess it doesn't bother me too much. I know that even if I used an alias it wouldn't be hard to figure out who I am, so my take is that if they really want to know, they'd find out anyway.

they send the IRS after ya if you get on a list. So unless youve been recently audited and activate antigovernment policies, don't even worry about it.

And if you're talking about being on a red list, well there's a reason its red. and ammo's still cheap.

The fact that we never see beyond the avatar leaves us lost. The crux of all online forums that is. Kelly could be white religious activist with no intention other than to spend some disposable time here, for all we know.

I certainly do not feel that PO.com is a wonderful forum or community but rather a :

1. time sucker
2. time waster
3. time consumer
4. time bandit
5. time thief
6. time gangster
7. time criminal
8. time abandoning monster

So, Kelly, before you get into the PO mud here, make sure to run a personal time balance sheet in order to determine if you have got enough 'time cash' necessary to play this game.
