Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

Georgia is reporting Russian jets have attacked the pipeline.

Russian jets targeted major oil pipeline-Georgia 09 Aug 2008 14:07:00 GMT

TBILISI, Aug 9 (Reuters) - Russian fighter jets targeted the the major Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline which carries oil to the West from Asia but missed, Georgia's Economic Development Minister Ekaterina Sharashidze said on Saturday.

"This clearly shows that Russia has not just targeted Georgian economic outlets but international economic outlets in Georgia," she said at a news briefing.

There have been no independent verifications of Russian jets targeting the BTC pipeline. (Reporting by Margarita Antidze, writing by James Kilner, editing by Jon Boyle)

Ummm...yeah - means anyone that thought this was going to blow over in a day or two was dead wrong.

LEADALL: Ossetia conflict between Georgia and Russia expands

By Deutsche Presse-Agentur Aug 9, 2008, 16:03 GMT
Russian airstrikes ranged widely across Georgia throughout the day, with dozens of sorties targeting oil pipelines, airfields, and military bases in the towns Vaziani, Gori, and Senaki, according to a Georgia government statement.

Gori was hit a second time in as many days. Errant Russian bombs killed at least 20 Gori residents, Georgia's national television channel reported.

Russian bombers also hit Georgia's only oil terminal in the Black Sea port Poti, destroying 'almost everything' and leaving the installation in flames, the Interfax news agency reported.

Missed? Come on... that was a warning shot.

Try not to believe everything you read in the media. You know they are hard at work swaying this one way or another. Just like Baghdad Bob or whatever the hell his name was.

I think we need reports from inside from a reliable source. Not some government propaganda statement.

I'm sure there is plenty behind the scenes that we know nothing about.

Will be interesting to see what old man Mac Daddy Mccain and G unit Obama have to say about the whole thing.

Probably in the same place as the evidence for USA's whole navy moving towards the Gulf, or the evidence for Israel having troops helping Georgia... Rolling Eyes

Airfields near Tbilisi have been hit, as far as we know.

Quote:

TBILISI, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Russian jets bombed the Vaziani military airbase outside the Georgian capital Tbilisi on Friday, a senior Georgian security official told Reuters.

"No one was wounded but some buildings have been destroyed," said Kakha Lamaia. The airbase is some 25 kilometres (15 miles) from Tbilisi.

"They have declared war against us," said Lamaia.

Thanks - that's still not bombs falling on cafes in the capital, though.

No matter who started this, Russia is going too far... They're attacking targets outside Ossetia, and they're effectively saying that it belongs to them now.

They also say that the only way to stop the fight is for Georgia to get out of there. Those US/EU envoys are going to have plenty of fun in their ceasefire attempts.

How 'bout here - or would you rather hear it from "fair and balanced" fox "news"...

14:19 GMT – Russia’s Interfax news agency quotes locals in Georgia claiming convoys of ‘NATO military vehicles’ are travelling to South Ossetia.
