Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

The rumors about obama being a Muslim, refusing to salute the US flag, etc have turned out to be bullshit. I wonder if Obama himself or someone in his camp had a hand in starting these false rumors. Think about it, it gives him a great platform. He can say I'm so perfect my rivals have to tell lies about me to try to smear me. They can't discredit me with the truth.

Or you make 12% of the people think you're a radical Muslim bent on the destruction of the US, which is what has happened. Yeah, great propaganda to help Obama.

Maybe McCain surfaced those rumors about him giving up buddies in N. Vietnam or having fathered an illegitimate black child.

Come to think of it - that daughter is from Bangladesh. So she was Muslim. Why would he adopt a Muslim girl unless...McCain is a Muslim!

That rumor about obama being a Muslim radical has been totally discredited. Noone takes it seriously anymore. And when it comes time to campaign he can say look my rivals have to spread false propaganda to try to discredit me. Like I say it gives him a good platform.

he didn't slip of tongue the 57 states either, Osama/Obama was referring to the OIC, Organization of Islamic Countries who number 57. and when Obama/Osama speaks he is talking to the mullahs in most cases.

I thought that was the case too.

Read through that forum. It's amazing how these guys see everything that Obama does as something he's doing in order to bring down the US and it's because he's Muslim. They call him an enemy, a pig, a terrorist.

And there are one in EIGHT people in America that are being fooled by these people. I'd venture to guess that most of the people who think he's Muslim, think he's radical and desires to take down this country with his liberal views. They've already bought the "Muslim" story hook, line and sinker. Why would they suddenly think that he's not a radical, the way that the media plays up Arabs and Muslims?

I can't find it, but there's a thread in there where they chronicle Obama's life. EVERYTHING is connected to Islam, is what they contend. When he was an atheist - Islam. When he did drugs - Islam. When he became a Christian - Islam. When he supports gay marriage (big no no in Islam) - It's because he's Muslim. When he supports abortion - because he's Muslim. These people think he's Muslim through and through. Not that he was a Muslim, but is a die-hard, fundamentalist Muslim tied to Al-Qaeda, Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, etc.

You're seriously underestimating the stupidity of people. Specifically right-wing, Evangelical white people.

Remember, 12% of people. I remember a few months ago when it was 8%, outside the margin of error. That means that MORE people are coming to believe this BS, despite the countless Christian ads he's put forth and everything he's done to quell the rumors.

Lest we forget, the lunatics who still think Obama is a Muslim would NEVER have voted for him in the first place.

I actively spread that particular rumor because I love the reaction I get from people but overall it's pretty harmless.

I bet they are the same type who are global warming deniers Wink

They hand-pave the road of their reality as their desires and prejudices warrant.

True. These guys are complete ideologues. They see the world as they see it, no evidence nor reason can persuade them otherwise. Reading that forum, it really boggles the mind how people can be so unhinged. It's like OIM, golem, JD and lorenzo all rolled into one. And there's hundreds of them. Confused

And you're a Republican, aren't you? Didn't you support Romney in the primaries, the man who said he wouldn't put a Muslim in office because there are too few Muslims (same reason we didn't put a Mormon on the ticket, hehe)? It's all coming together Tyler. Razz

Tru dat. But it does mean that they are MORE likely to vote in this election AGAINST Obama. Had this rumor not been started and had it not gotten to this point, then there's a good chance that these types would have stayed away from the polls because they don't have a good rep with McCain (claim he's tied to George Soros, global warming legislation, (Muslim/Arab/Hispanic) immigration, etc.).

So in all, this is a positive for McCain and negative for Obama (net negative?).

No way would Obama be spreading false rumors about being Muslim.

Those rumors obviously originated from desperate republican supporters wanting to deflect the American voters attention away from their own candidate. I can't say that I am surprised by this.

Just lookup how McCain got himself the nickname "songbird" and ask yourself which candidate has the most skeletons in his closet.

As with the previous two elections, the winner is decided by how many voters can be kept away from the polls until the end of the voting period.

Quote:
Chris: Your reports on vote suppression led to a congressional inquiry and the resignation of Tim Griffin, one of President Bush’s U.S. Attorneys. Could you describe how the Bush administration interfered with voting rights in 2004?

Greg: Item one is something that we discovered called caging. There were e-mails written by the Republican National Committee’s chief researcher, a character named Tim Griffin, who was a protege of Karl Rove. He was sending out caging lists, which are hit lists of voters to challenge. The way caging works is they send out registered letters to voters and when the voters aren’t around to receive their letters the envelopes say, Do Not Forward the voters end up being subject to challenge. The particular hit list that we got was substantially filled with voters from the naval air station in Jacksonville (Florida). There are reasons why someone at a naval air station wouldn’t be at their voting address. That’s because, unlike Bush during Vietnam, they are off in a foreign war. Republicans also sent letters to students at black colleges in August knowing that they wouldn’t be there. They illegally challenged their votes. The Republicans challenged three million voters in 2004, which is absolutely unbelievable and unreported. That fact was right there in the records of the Election Assistance Commission of the federal government. Those voters received provisional ballots and a million of those ballots were thrown in the garbage. That is just one of the tricks. There are several and they are being sharpened for 2008.

Vote theft: class war by other means

This year the Republican party has greatly extended the range of tactics used for suppression of votes. Leaflets will be dropped from helicopters, calling on people to immediately vacate certain polling areas. The leaflets contain detailed instructions about how to behave, any failure to comply carries the risk of lethal attacks by "security forces": No vehicle movements after sunset. Cars may not be parked under trees, or in the shade. Upon seeing a helicopter, all voters must come out of their vehicles with their hands up. Those who don't receive leaflets or cannot read are in mortal danger.

This kind of paranoia is just as silly as the claim that Obama is a Mormon Muslim.

Didn't Obama say he wouldn't wear a flag pin after 9/11? And I thought he didn't salute the flag for a period of time as well.

Of course, now he is (pandering??) by wearing a big flag pin and saluting the flag with some gusto, but I thought for a while he didn't......?.

I know the Hillary campaign started this attack on Obama, but there does seem to be truth in it...

"...what was going on with Senator Obama? His critics are circulating the picture and saying that he is not respecting the flag or the National Anthem, especially since the protocol, according to the United States Flag code, is that civilians should have their right hands over their hearts and that they should be facing the flag. His supporters are saying that this little lapse should not be held against him since there have been plenty of other events at which he has saluted the flag---so it did not mean that he would, in principle, avoid doing it.

Some supporters have suggested that perhaps the picture does not tell the whole story and that he may have raised his hand shortly after it was taken.

An ABC News video, however, shows that Senator Obama did not salute at any time during the Anthem and that everybody else on the platform did.

The "Help America Vote" bill that Greg Palast imagines Bush tricked the Congress into passing was actually a democratically sponsored bill that that democrats demanded after Gore's defeat in Florida. It was written with democrats and passed with democratic support (the vote was 92-3 in the Senate). And it passed in 2002...not 2006 as Palast wrongly says.

Its a bit simplistic of people like Palast to imagine that Bush controls everything in the world, especially when Palast doesn't get his dates and other basic facts right Smile

well, I'm bombarded with stuff like this from a "syndicated columnist" daily in my e-mail:

Barack baby, you want me to believe that you have never heard the
sermons of your own pastor, the Right Reverend 'God Damn America'
Jeremiah Wright. It is a matter of record that this has been your
church for over 20 years. It is a matter of record that you were
married there by this very pastor, and that your children were
baptized there.

The good Reverend saw fit to visit Khadafy in Libya with you and to
give a lifetime achievement award to Louis Farrakhan, of all people.

I don't care, but the let the mudslingin begin....
