Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

I'd rather say the EU is the lifeline of Russia. If we decide we don't need their gas...
...then Chinese will decide that they do.
and just how are you going to get your NG to them? your pipelines run to europe, not china. you don't have the infrastructure in place to switch from europe to china.
let me put this another way: russia only has one oil pipeline running through kazakhstan into china and NO gas pipelines running into china. so, you either sell to europe, or since more than 60% of your export revenues come from oil and gas, watch your economy disintegrate.
and if you think you're going to be 'allowed' to invade poland, you're out of your mind. any such act would likely end in the destruction of russia, not to mention the rest of the world.

There is another solution:
Not sell gas to Europe (or sell it only to few selected countries there, Italy comes to mind) and build gas pipes to China.
These are already proposed and one bypassing Baikal lake is already under construction.
Putting on free market few bundles of US treasury bonds will nicely assist with capital, so no help from banking sector would be needed.

As if US would wish to commit suicide to protect Poland.
Ha ha ha!

Ha ha ha!
what, you think you're going to build the pipelines necessary to move that much product into china overnight? ha! your economy will be a smoking wreck before you could even get started.
face it, you have a case, of at worst for the EU, MAED, mutually assured economic destruction. cut their gas and oil for any significant time, and you cut your own throat. if only the 'geniuses' in moscow had built these pipelines into china before they decided to flex their newfound fascist muscles....
this isn't 1956; you will be met w/force if you attempt to invade poland, and then god help us all.

The world of appeasement did.
Threats that will not be carried out are propaganda nothing more.
Russia has less use for management of Poland than the EU. The real threat to Russia is from the south and the southwest.
Oh and that no ICBM owning guy who gets his world views and instructions by throwing notes down a well.... claims ( but we don't think it is true) to have launched something into orbit. _________________ Courtesy and Courage, Sincerity and Self-control, Honor and Loyalty...a Code to Live By!

MAD is so 1970's
The flavor of the new american century is that we can win any conflict via first strike. That is certainly not lost on the russians, or chinese.
nor is it lost on international corporations, who care not a bit for nationalism, freedom, democracy, etc.
Russian threat likely is directed to the US bases that will support the missile system. I doubt it is hollow rhetoric. _________________ This is where everybody puts profound words written by another...or not so profound words written by themselves

Show me one responsible American military or political leader who has produced any study that claims a first nuclear strike is a valid option ... ( and I will show you a fool).
MAD may be "so 1970s" but it still exists. The Russians will not rule after a nuclear war, they probably know that! _________________ Courtesy and Courage, Sincerity and Self-control, Honor and Loyalty...a Code to Live By!
