Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

Quote:
COPENHAGEN (Thomson Financial) - Denmark has fallen into recession, the first European Union country to do so in the aftermath of the U.S. sub-prime crisis, after its economy contracted in the first quarter, official figures issued on Tuesday showed.

The official statistics office said the Danish economy contracted 0.6 percent compared with the three months to December, when it saw negative growth of 0.2 percent.

A recession is defined technically as two consecutive quarters of negative growth.

...

Global growth has been steadily slowing since the collapse of the US subprime or higher-risk home loan market last year sparked a credit crunch that has seen business starved of funding as banks refuse to lend.

At the same time, record high oil and other commodity prices have stoked costs and inflation, undercutting corporate profits and investment.

If these people played their cards right they would have been able to set up a tulip bulb bubble right as the U.S. Subprime began to pop. [edit - whoops, wrong country cashmere]

We are in a technical recession because we simply can't attract enough foreign workers. We have the lowest unemployment rate ever in history, under 5% and all companies are screaming for more workers.

Mr Monkey.

Oh, only a "technical" recession.

Good to hear.

Over here in the U.S. we have an unannounced recession.

Why on earth would you want to have more foreign workers? If you ain't got the workforce then just leave it as it is. In view of PO, we all have to adapt to a world that does not grow.

Look at France with all their foreign "workers" and see what they got in return, overpopulated cities full with people abusing the welfare system.

Yeah, opening the gates will really help...

Nice to see the "US" steady at 0.

Which country is that, the "US"?

USA at 0? Doesn't seem to correspond to a lot of news on this site lately. France going into minus? Does that mean that people would get paid to buy houses?

We're not openening any gates. In fact, Denmark has one of europes strictest foreign policy which makes it really hard to get into Denmark - unless you have a very good education in some of the areas that we need workers in Wink

I live in my own house, bought with a 30 year fixed mortgage, in the middle of the little town that i live in. And this is all with a 37 hour work week at a job that i got after my 4 year education.
