Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

This is turning ugly. No matter what you say or do, conspiracy theorists will always say it's rigged.
Let me start by pointing out that Mr. Obama and Mr. McCain are both the same, a product of the US system. Therefore, no differences are to be expected. For all purposes, either of them will be absolutely equal as soon as TSHTF.
vapyregirl, that makes, I don't know, about a dozen threads started by you on Barack Obama. Getting a little paranoid, are we? _________________ Environmental News and Clippings:

The problem I have with Sen. Obama is that he seems to be an airhead. He gives wonderful speeches when he is reading a teleprompter, but his impromptu statements are sometimes apalling (somebody tell him there aren't 57 states).
I also think his campaign strategy is vacuous and blatantly hypocritical. He campaigns as a reformer, but then kills the public campaign finance system by opting out and tapping big donors to spend way over the limits.
Obama constantly whines that he is being attacked as unpatriotic, but the facts don't back up his complaints ... McCain has pointedly and effectively focussed on Obama's lack of experience and poor judgement, rather then Obama's patriotism.
Obama campaigned as a post-racial candidate, until it turned out he was a member of a viruently anti-white church for 20+ years whose nutty preacher blames whites for AIDS and other ills of the world.
Obama claims to reach across party lines, but he has never once participated in any of the actual bipartisan compromises in the Senate.
I formerly backed Obama, but now I don't think I can support him.

I have posted three Obama threads. one in off topic and two in Americas discussion. nowhere close to a dozen. Are you confusing me with someone else?

40% of the votes for a republican
40% of the votes for a democrat
the 20% that is in play is what Obama and McCain are after
Those that think O is a muslim won't change votes and think those who vote for him are pinko commie homos
Those who think that conservatives are whacko inbred brain dead religious fanatics won't change their votes
Quit trying to make people think like you want them to. _________________ This is where everybody puts profound words written by another...or not so profound words written by themselves

Naah, I got those 3 threads. Chill out on the man - he and McCain are essentially the same. It doesn't matter, really. I've asked once in a thread and nobody answered; now Plantagenet has asked too: is Nader running this year? That's the kind of man that could make a change: a man from (slightly) outside the system. _________________ Environmental News and Clippings:

Bingo. The right wing hate machine has been spinning this for months now. Hannity still claims from time to time that there are WMDs in Iraq. Right wingers never give up a good lie even in the face of blatant facts to the contrary.
You've got to face the music: the America Hannity/Limbaugh/Rove dream of is the American Confederacy.

And Nancy Pelosi claims she is saving the planet by blocking oil drilling in the US, while simultaneously demanding the Pentagon supply her with a government giant jet that can fly her coast to coast without having to stop anywhere in "flyover country" for refueling.
There is stupidity on both sides----neither party has a monopoly on ignorance.

It's possible... he has a website, he's apparently on the ballot in 34 states, and he even has a running mate! One or two percent for Nader might be all McCain needs. _________________ Got Dharma?

That is good news that Nader is running. I've voted for Nader the last two elections....happy to hear I've got an opportunity to make it three in a row!

The thing about Nader is that he's enough from inside the system to understand it, and play by its rules, and enough outsider to deserve some trust. I hope he has a good chance, but I do understand he is the Republican's greatest asset, the Ace in a Hole. _________________ Environmental News and Clippings:

a few days ago, one of the tipical Obama voters told me that "we" need to withdraw troops from iraq, because terrorists will use this opportunity (buns relaxed here, troops are overthere, ets) to take over the country. Yes, to take over, no word-games here.

I think it was old man Churchill who said it's the worse form of government, except for all the other ones. Makes you negotiate, and therefore it focuses on compromise. I suppose compromise is always the best solution. _________________ Environmental News and Clippings:
