However, I doubt. OED - Our Elected Dumbasses. It's not like the energy debate this summer has exactly been a cornucopia of scintillating intellect.

Of course it's not. It is a probiotic fuel, it is a natural part of the
digestive process deep in the bowels of Gaia and she shoots it
out as little gifts to her children as we dance around the Maypole
and chirp like little birds. If it ever appears to start running out,
Mother Gaia will simply switch to eating more soy and drinking
a beer once in awhile. I wonder if Nancy figured this out on her
own or if Hillary made her read a book on the subject.

On NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House twice seemed to suggest that natural gas – an energy source she favors – is not a fossil fuel.

“I believe in natural gas as a clean, cheap alternative to fossil fuels,” she said at one point.

Natural gas “is cheap, abundant and clean compared to fossil fuels,” she said at another.

With scientific illiterates like Nancy Pelosi running things in the Congress, its no wonder the Congress hasn't done anything about the energy facing the US.

Sometimes I think peak oil will blow over and we'll muddle through it somehow or another because there are enough educated and rational people out there to fix things one step at a time. But then I read newslets like this and I think: we haven't got a chance in heck! It's all a disgusting freakshow of lies, betrayal and death, and people who think that things can change for the better are utterly, hopelessly mistaken. We need a global war to smash down everything to it's component parts, so that something sane and fresh might emerge. We should do it NOW.
