Oil's energy contribution has declined by about 12% since 1999. The world's economies have also declined by about 12%. (Using conventional metrics, which are time delayed determinations, this will only be seen in hind sight). The massive destruction of asset values now occurring testifies to it happening. Peak is well behind us, world economies have peaked and will continue to decline.

Ball says they last indefinitely.

A forum member elsewhere said they last 5 years

What is it?

I have some in my hand-me-down box that are over 20 years old and they are just fine... some others seem to have broken down and I did not attempt to use. They just came to me in the last few years so I can't really tell you if they were stored in different environments.

Reasonably cool/dry area they should last a long time.

as long as there is no rust on the inside or deterioration of the rubberized seal they will do the job.

The ozone in ambient air could destroy the rubber sealing ring. If you store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry dark place, they will probably last for decades or more.
