Oil's energy contribution has declined by about 12% since 1999. The world's economies have also declined by about 12%. (Using conventional metrics, which are time delayed determinations, this will only be seen in hind sight). The massive destruction of asset values now occurring testifies to it happening.
Peak is well behind us, world economies have peaked and will continue to decline.

Russia says number of NATO ships in Black Sea increasing
A Russian naval official reported an increase in NATO warships near the Georgian coast on Wednesday.
"According to our information, NATO ships are in the Black Sea and their numbers are increasing," said Vice Adm. Sergei Menyailo, commander of the Novorossiisk naval base.
A U.S. Embassy spokesman said on Wednesday that a warship that was due to deliver aid to the Georgian port of Poti, where Russian troops have been carrying out patrols, would dock at Batumi. He did not explain the reason for the decision.
Menyailo said that the Moskva missile cruiser, the flagship of Russia's Black Sea Fleet, was approaching the port of Sukhumi, Abkhazia's capital.
"We are controlling territorial waters and the adjacent area, ensuring shipping safety, and preventing the smuggling of arms and military vehicles," the official said. link _________________ In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act. - George Orwell

Russian analyst points to link between Georgian attack and Iran
A senior Russian military analyst said on Wednesday that the U.S. and NATO by arming Tbilisi used the conflict in Georgia as a dress rehearsal for a future military operation in Iran.
Col. Gen Leonid Ivashov, president of the Academy of Geopolitical Studies, told a news conference at RIA Novosti, "We are close to a serious conflict - U.S. and NATO preparations on a strategic scale are ongoing. In the operation the West conducted on Georgian soil against Russia - South Ossetians were the victims or hostages of it - we can see a rehearsal for an attack on Iran. There is a great deal of "new features" that today are being fine tuned in the theater of military operations."
He said the likelihood of a war against Iran was growing with each passing day, "As a result, the situation in the region will become destabilized," and added "causing chaos and instability" was becoming Washington's official policy line.
Ivashov said it was difficult to predict how other countries would react to a conflict with Iran, but according to him, "old Europe" would be reluctant for events to develop and to some degree would become Russia's allies.
With regard to the Georgia-South Ossetian conflict, he said that one of the principal goals of NATO's "geopolitical operation" was to neutralize Russia as a global player. link _________________ In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act. - George Orwell

Russian U.N. Draft Condemns U.S.-Led Air Strikes
In a clear indication of the combative mood in the Security Council -- the heightened tensions between Russia and the U.S. and secondarily with France and the U.K. -- Moscow introduced a draft press statement Tuesday for the Security Council to "deplore" the August 22 bombing of civilians in Afghanistan by the U.S.-led air strikes.
The United Nations said Tuesday that convincing evidence exists that U.S-led coalition air-strikes killed more than 90 innocent civilians, mostly women and children, in Afghanistan's west last week -- one of the most gruesome killings of civilians since the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001.
The Russian draft "expresses serious concern over the extremely high civilian casualties reportedly caused by the U.S.-led air strikes" and saying member-nations "strongly deplore the fact that this is not the first incident of this kind."

NATO’s navy delivers weapons to Georgia under the guise of humanitarian aid link
If so, if it is anything short of nukes isn't it just wishful thinking upon NATO's part? And what message does this say to Russia about the trustworthiness of US / NATO?

Russia is concerned about a possibility to deliver military hardware to Georgia on board NATO warships, which would only escalate the tension in the Caucasus.
“The absence of control over the cargoes, which NATO warships deliver to Georgia cannot but raise concerns with us. When there’s no control, there’s no guarantee that various weapons, for example man-portable missile systems, have not been or will not be delivered to Georgia. It can also be reconnaissance equipment including unmanned aerial vehicles,” the source said. _________________ In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act. - George Orwell

Russia warns NATO to back off or face war
Russia on Wednesday warned NATO against building up naval forces in the Black Sea as President Dmitry Medvedev confronted Western outrage over his recognition of two Georgian rebel regions as independent states.
Russian General Anatoly Nogovitsyn said Russian naval forces would monitor the NATO naval "buildup" and pointed to a 1936 convention limiting shipping levels in the Black Sea.
"Can NATO... indefinitely build up its forces and means there? It turns out it cannot," Nogovitsyn said.
Russia's ambassador to NATO, Dmitry Rogozin, warned that any attack by the alliance on the Moscow-backed regions would "mean a declaration of war on Russia," in an interview with Russian newspaper Vremya Novostei .

So do you really believe that NATO (means US) will go to war with Russia over Abkhazia and Ossetia?
I doubt that very much. Why to risk a suicide for some irrelevant territories very far away?

I believe the US objective from early on has been to pit West Europe against Russia. So I think some false flag attack on the German ship will be appropriate, even if US also has to lose one ship or two.

Unmanned Georgian spy plane shot down in South Ossetia
An unmanned Georgian reconnaissance plane was shot down in South Ossetia on Thursday, acting South Ossetian Interior Minister Mikhail Mindzayev told reporters at a news conference.
"The plane was downed by small arms fire. Tskinval residents and reporters saw the plane flying over the city on Wednesday afternoon. It also flew over Tskhinval overnight to Thursday," Mindzayev said.
A group of South Ossetian investigators is examining plane fragments at the crash scene.
