I see what is coming:
On the election day Labour Party will be removed from House of Commons by Conservatives and Liberal Democrats who are also completely incompetent to solve any major problem in UK. I think there is no rescue, North Sea is going to be dry soon anyway - infrastructure is build to operate on that resources. Is there anyone saying what will happen when Brent is no longer a benchmark in trade?
It was decision of Maggie Thatcher to suck the oil and gas as fast as possible and every Prime Minister since her followed. I often think labour party and conservatives are the same party - Iraq, police state, liberalization, privatization, credit expansion, creating policies by The City and for The City, building highways and destroying railroads...
Like two wings of the same party - and from this malaise two parties emerge - UKIP and BNP. I wonder about the future of UK if this trend continues. _________________ The poor complain; they always do,

There isn't going to be a 2012 Olympics. Even if there was, they'd have to clear the stadium with tear gas first.

Gosh JPL, Maybe there will be an Olympics, the events might just be different than the ones we're used to. Who is going to get the gold for pole vaulting over mountains of debt? Who can skate on the thinnest ice, both metaphorically and literally? |

There is a shred of hope - if the UK govt. can persuade Argentina to re-invade the Falklands again, we might be able to get through 2012 on patriotic ferver. Apart from that, the games are more likly to be the only sport the British were ever good at (grin).
Do you realise there is no other nation on the planet that has been at war with EVERYONE else at some time in the last 300 years? USA, check, Russia, China, check. Germany, France, yep check as well. Japan, check. etc. etc. Everyone else was either under British rule or praying to whatever gods they believe in that these lunatics never appear over the horizon again.
Ahyhow, I digress. The British in the 19'th & 20'th centuries used to f**k the rest of the world. Now in the 21'st we are going to have to f**k each other. This is so not good...

You can call it being doomerish, I call it being realistic.
But was it wise? I wonder how this will affect the markets, foreign investment and the pound sterling on Monday? I suspect that it'll make the general public more reluctant than ever to spend. |

Lol, you need one of these:
| Quote: | It was intended to reverse negative attitudes and smooth the animosity over hooded tops. But Hoodie Day ended in a spat of its own when National Party MPs boycotted it, claiming it had been hijacked by Labour.
MPs from political parties - including Labour, National, the Greens and Maori Party - had agreed to support yesterday's Hoodie Day, which was organised as part of Youth Week to dispel the intimidating image of the hoodie - a hooded sweatshirt.
However, when MPs assembled for a photo, National's Paula Bennett and Nicky Wagner were missing.
Ms Bennett said that a few weeks ago she accepted an invitation to take part, but it became clear this week that the photo-op had become a "Labour Government thing". |
