I just logged into Wikipedia and meet this article in my face:
Ukraine coup
This has potential for real BIG TROUBLE and tshtf in Eastern Europe. The people are in the majority and they want the support of Russia, while this NATO puppet guy is thinking about a military coup! Nothing good will come out of this...
| Quote: | | Officials from the Party of Regions accused Yushchenko of planning to impose direct presidential rule by dissolving the parliament without calling early elections. At the same time members of the Central Election Commission sympathetic to Yushchenko would resign prolonging the time without an acting parliament.[17] Another claim said Yushchenko had secretly instructed the oblast governors and leaders of NGOs to request the imposition of a direct presidential rule by Yushchenko and that he would launch a military coup.[18] Yushchenko denied planning to resolve the crisis with force saying Ukraine can resolve the crisis in a "democratic way" through dialogue. |
| Quote: | | Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko's office on Monday (18 August) accused Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, his 'Orange Revolution' ally, of betraying the national interest by failing to back Georgia in its conflict with Russia. |

Sounds to me like they need Peacekeeprs to step in, stabilise the country and organise elections if five years or so when the local police forces are trained up. _________________ Congress has found themselves in a bear trap. They will chew off three legs, and still be caught in it... |

| Yuschenko has a 6% approval rating and his party got about 14% during the last election. Yet this Cheney stooge is acting like he is the voice of Ukraine. The allegations of a coup are very plausible, Yuschenko has no popular support (unlike say Timoshenko) and is desperate. But I do not believe any coup attempt will succeed. |

| Quote: | The coalition split earlier this month after Tymoshenko's bloc and the Party of the Regions, led by the former prime minister Viktor Yanukovich, voted to strip Yushchenko of several powers. The president accused her of staging a parliamentary coup.
The feud is further linked to which leader controls lucrative pipeline revenue on oil and gas shipped through Ukraine from Russia. "It's not about being pro-western or pro-Russian. It's about who gets to sit on the pipe," one official remarked yesterday.
"Tymoshenko is only interested in what serves her. She wants a monopoly on power. She was pro-western when she needed the west's support. Now she trying to be pro-Russian." |

I know I'll get a lot of abuse for this but ..... maybe it would be for the best if NATO and the west were to "lose" Georgia and the Ukraine to the evil Russian empire, just so long as they keep their grubby hands off Poland, the Czech Republic and the rest of Eastern Europe. At least we'll all know where we stand.
Don't know what Europe is going to do for energy though. Be nice to the Ruskies I suppose. |

| NATO drones can only think in terms of "us or them" and "you are either with us or against us". Ukraine needs to lose Yuschenko who is an obvious NATO Trojan horse and refuses to abide by the constitutional changes that got him to power in 2004. The pot shots at Timoshenko show how much NATO loves democracy. It is only "democracy" when your bootlicks are in power. What a crime that Timoshenko responds to the opinion of the electorate! That "traitor" is not following the marching orders of the Bush regime, how dare she! Go f*k yourselves, you bloody hypocrites. |
